Thanks for the kind words- but sorry your book arrived looking worn... I'm going to have to look into the cause of this, as you aren't the only person to tell me this recently.

hehe, cheers - knew you'd get back to me quick sharp.

Just out of interest - I am a little confused about special attack - is it "sort of" a catch all power for things that don't fit else where?

AngryGhost I L-O-V-E your avatar!

I can't comment on the quality of the books myself, since I printed mine in full colour and had it bound at Bureau en Gros (Staples).

That said one of my players bought a hard copy and we did notice the covers started looking really worn after only one session.

None of that takes away from how awesome the game is! :)

Special Attack is just a catch-all for all comic book attacks really. Eye beams, Spider-Man's webbing balls, Hulk Hogan's big legdrop, etc... ;)

I know it's awesome isn't it - I must admit I have more of a love for daffy than green lantern...I'm sure if enough people see it there will undoubtedly be a debate on whether the duck or Ryan Reynolds is a better choice for the film.

A few of mine are looking pretty worn as well. Nothing major, just the cover looking a little beat up after flipping through the book a few times. It just seems to be the lamination/coating that doesn't hold up very well. Not sure why, but it has come up. Of the nine books I've gotten about three of them are kind of worn looking now, the other six have just been sitting on the shelf waiting for MisCon, so they look fine.

Mine looked fine, but had a slight ding in the back, which I assumed was from shipping or something. I was happy.

I don't think it's a shipping thing - the lamination process is like this on most soft cover books I find (unfortunately). Back when I bought Paranoia XP it I hadn't got more than 2 chapters in a first read and it had started peeling off.

Of course it's easy to for me to say that it wouldn't happen in a hard back copy, but lets me honest, the printing prices of hard back books (esp. for indy/small companies) don't come cheap.

Anyway, have finally finished the book and am very happy with it. Might look into the D10 alt mechanic too as a lot of people I play with have come from WoD backgrounds and have buckets of dice they want to play with. But going to give the game a whirl with the misses as is first of course.

Leisure games are pretty quick too with their dispatch & good customer service to boot. As long as Royal Mail don't hate you like they do me then you'll probably get it tomorrow morning if you ordered it today before 5

Yeah my cover got really worn too. I actually went to my library and asked if they could sell me some of their book covers. The plastic ones. It actually works pretty well, makes the cover a lot sturdier.

Well, I think I may look into using an alternative to that coating on the next print run then, as that seems to be the main problem.
