Zone Effects Great for BASH!

Post by Baelor »

Hi,

My name on these forums is Baelor, and I am a huge fan of BASH. I also am the owner and sculptor for Baelor Miniatures. A year or so ago I came up with an idea for zone effect markers for 4th Editions D&D that would make tracking ongoing effects easy and look cool. When I discovered BASH, I found that the Zone Effects worked great for superhero action as well.

With Bashman's blessing I would like to draw your attention to the Zone Effects Store, where you can get your very own.

I have been using them for a while now and they do work very well, especially in representing square and cone/triangular effects, which covers most area effects in BASH. The markers lie along the lines of the square so, you can place figures right next to, or even on either side of a marker with ease. You don't have to mark up you battlemats anymore, only to erase them a few turns later. Because the markers represent the corners of the effect, they scale up or down easily, and because of the shape of the marker, your eye naturally extends the effect between the markers. You can even have multiple effects overlapping or encompassing each other. I have also used them to represent single squares or small patches of fire or other hazards, teleportals, even objectives.

Anyway enough from me, see for yourself:

Here we have several of the tough customers from the BASH Comics Characters Cavalcade [the standees] – Benny the Bomb, Tiger Shrike and Leviathan – facing off against Cold Fusion [the figure, available at Baelor Miniatures]. Cold Fusion has surrounded himself with an aura of cold, and sent out a blast of the burning to engulf his enemies. You can easily see that the canny Cavalcade characters [alliteration is Cool!] have avoided being caught in the aura, but Cold Fusion surprised them by laying down a zone of intense heat that they will not soon forget.

That's a really cool idea. I don't like to play with minitures, normally, but if I was these would be a really awesome way to handle area/cone effects. The figure of Cold Fusion looks great s well!
