hamster ball force field - advantage

Post by dugfromthearth »

With this advantage a force field is shaped like a sphere and can roll. Characters in the force field can run normally. If there are multiple characters they have to move on the same priority.

Why can't they do this already? If a force field is centered on its creator, it moves with them. Whether that is by hovering over them, or rolling under their feet, I would consider more descriptive than anything.

It does? I must have missed that.

The forcefield user in the party last night was trapped by his forcefield. We must have been doing it wrong.

Single greatest power ever...Hamster Ball! Seriously, brilliant application of the power. I like it (and wouldn't have expected force field to work that way either). Linked with Super Speed, this would make for a great character concept.

I agree with BASHMAN.
My example.
THE premier forcefield character. Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman. When has she ever been "trapped" by her own FF?

How or why on earth was that ruled otherwise?

I could see having a limitation to a forcefield that renders it immobile. The one putting up the forcefield would have the option to let it drop and create a new one in a new location, likely you should be limited to 1 field at a time. One could also have a limitation that it has a set lifespan - once created it's there until the duration passes.

I like the idea of a hamsterball though, use the forcefield like a battering ram, or to roll down a hill at high speed :)
