Weakened weaken

Weaken currently gives a -1 dice modifier per point to a target's stat for the duration of the encounter, but you have to win a contest between weaken+1 and the target's highest stat.
This makes low values of weaken effectively useless, and high values really powerful. I wanted a version that was simpler to use and had more gradations.
Weaken 1-5, range, area
Each point in weaken gives the target a -1 dice modifier in one stat chosen when the power is purchased, this effect lasts 1 page. For a +1 enhancement the effect lasts 3 pages. For a +2 enhancement the effect lasts the duration of the encounter.
Example: Dark Dagger buys a weaken vs Brawn as a melee attack. It gives a -2 dice modifier to Brawn for 3 pages at a cost of 3 points.
Example: Endless Nightmare buys a weaken vs Mind a ranged attack. It gives a -3 dice modifier to Mind for the duration of the encounter at a range of 5. Total cost is 6 points.
