Adjustable Stats

Greetings *!
I used to have a Champions character named Overmaster that had a pool of points that he could use to switch around with his stats, i.e. he could be really strong, or really fast, or really tough.
Is there a way to mimic this using BASH:UE? A limited Boost perhaps?
Thanks in Advance,
jak

I would use a Multi-Power with different Boosts, so yes imho that would be the way to go.

Ummm. There is an extremely easy way to do that. Shape-Shift. That's what the power does (let's you swap around Brawn and Agility).
What you would probably want to do is have a limitation: [Doesn't Actually Change Shape] and that'll do it.

If he does go that route, he will need to make sure his Brawn and Agility are mid-range already since Shape-Shifting re-distributes what you already have,i.e. it dosen't give you anymore points just gives you the ability to juggle it back and forth correct?
For example: Overmaster has Brawn 3 Agility 3 base, and he can drop Agility down to a 1 to get really strong at Brawn 5 or drop Brawn to 2 to get Agility 4?

Yes- A 3/3 is ideal with Shape-Shift.
Boost with both stats also works- but you'd need to come up with a situation under which the boost works... like "Only for X" or "When he's angry" etc.
If you want these things to be something to switch between, you could make them be mutually exclusive.

Interesting question as one of my player characters for the WW2 game I intend to run is kind of like Ultra Boy in that he has different powers, only one of which can be used at a time and one of these is super strength. I'd intended to give him Boost but hadn't quite figured out what the situational modifier would be yet.

How about "when not using Multi-Power" and put his other special powers in a Multi-Power?

I think that is its own descriptor, as it has to be activated right? I certainly would allow it since it isn't always on. If I wanted to force one it would be "For Feats of Strength", essentially when he wanted to lift something really really big. To add it to Brawn for soak or attacks though, I would suggest Armor power and a Special Attack instead of Boost.
Just my two cents

Thanks for all the great replies. I'm going to read over the powers you guys suggested and decide what I like best. Then, I'll post my character sheet to the forum.

Would it be possible to just buy extra Stats as powers, with the 2pts/rank cost? So it isn't a cost break, unlike Boost, but might fit into certain build concepts?

I guess you could do that. If it's 2pts per +1 Multiplier to a stat (to a max of x5) I'd see no problem at all with it.

Hmmmm...
Super Stat +4 [Limitation: Can only boost Brawn or Agility, one or both. -0 limitation] (8pts)
How's that?

Well, you'd need it to be +2/+0, +1/+1, or +0/+2 to the stats. Because if it can be "both" it looks like you'd let them increase +2/+2 which would be broken.

Btw- the "Inner Strength" power suite will be having an ability similar to this (Hard Style vs. Soft Style) martial arts...
