suppose I want to use Continual Damage and I want to get a bonus to hit with it - how do I do that?

and how do I do that as a Normal?

I have a power defined as a flamethrower. It is a gadget that sets people on fire, so they take continual damage.

I can buy up continual damage for more damage - but what do I buy to increase my to hit with the flamethrower?

do I buy Boost only to hit with the flamethrower?

If the flamethrower is a gadget (ie has some kind of gadget limitation), then you can use it while having the normal disadvantage.

Hey dugfromthearth,

Yes, that's what I do. Buy Boost (only to hit with flamethrower).

Best,

Would Special Technique also apply? Don't have the book in front of me to confirm.

Weapon Technique would work if you're using a normal weapon (ie one you don't buy with character points). If the flame thrower is something out of an equipment list, then you're good to go.

Flame Throwers are listed- by the way- in the Golden Age section of Chapter 5: Settings ;-)

But if you want to build a Flamethrower as a gadget, I would do it as "Boost: Agility w/ Flame Thrower"

Another option is the create a new Enhancement called "Accuracy" where each point gives +1 Multiplier to Hit.
