Basic Action Super Heroes!

It turns out that there are often more disadvantages that I like for a character than advantages, is there a way to take disadvantages without matching them with advantages, what happens then?

There is an alternate rule on the bottom of page 124 which suggests you get 1 extra character point per extra disadvantage (or can buy extra advantages for 1 pt. each). The narrator can alter the cost depending on the advantage/disadvantage.

I read that and saw where it talked about buying advantages, I can't believe I missed the bit about disadvantages. Thank you.
