Question on Skills

If I my character has a Agility 3, could I have Athletics +3? Do you have to pick a Specialty at all? Is the bonus to skills added to the Agility stat or is it add to the dice roll? So the Agility would be Agility 6 for the perpose of a Athletics test or would Dice roll say 4,6 x Agility 3 + athletics bonus +3= 33?

Per page 7, it is definitely a multiplier. So if you (somehow) had three skill picks assigned to Athletics to raise the multiplier, and your base Agility is 3, then you would roll x6.
The example the book uses implies that you must have a specialty with your first skill pick, and only after that can additional picks go towards increasing the multiplier. It says:
So if you had an Agility of 3 and invested all three slots in Stealth, your multiplier could be x5, or you could have Stealth x4 with two specialties instead of one, or Stealth x3 with three specialties.
So that is exactly the scenario you asked about (except Stealth instead of Athletics), and it doesn't mention the possibility of x6 with no specialties. We'll have to see what Bashman says, whether that is intended or not.

BASHMAN, Is it possible to have no specialty and have a Athletics +6 from my example?

No, it is not. You need to have one specialty. If you wanted a x6 Athletics with an Agility of 3, you'd need to take the Skillful power.
If you don't want to take skillful, as an optional house rule, I came up with you can drop 2 slots in mental skills to get 1 slot in physical skills, and vice versa.
