HI
I needed a cargo ship for a game.
Used a 5,000t bulk ship
Just wondered how many Hits it should have?
The rules give it 30 Soak, which seemed high, but how many hits to put a hole in it?
Dark Sky a 5000t 20 year old bulk carrier
B1; A 1; M 1; Size 5 +25 Brawn and Soak; Hull Steel 100 Hits ?
Speed 15kn 1sq;
Crew - Captain; first officer; 2 seamen; Chief Engineer; Ast Engineer; 2 Engineer's
Defence - 2 x Vulcan guns x5 Dam; Medium Burst 5x5; Full Auto; Range 40; Radar control +5

Most vehicles and Heroes/Villains have 100 Hits. Actually when I do games in space, fighters have the same amount of Hits as their pilots; so when minions are the pilots, they get shot down easier.
Why does it only have a Brawn of 1? If it rammed into somebody, I bet it would do a lot of damage.

Thanks for that Bashman, I was right then.
B1 because it has no great speed or ability to do damage by itself, Size gives it much more.
Assuming I have understood it right.
Damage would be 2d6 x1 plus 25 or 30 as a minion default.
I would have thought 30 would be more than enough for a slow ship. Chance of it hitting anything is very small due to slow turning.
If it hit a normal person swimming it would overcome their 10 soak and 10 hits quite happily.

Yeah, I'd give the dark Sky a much higher Brawn score too. It might not have much in the way of acceleration, but if it were already cruising it's mass and momentum would cause a lot of damage to anything it crashed into (at least compared to a typical, small motorboat).

If you want its speed to be slow, you can give it a high Brawn, but a Disadvantage that slows its swim speed.
