Can I retro-actively "Interrupt" before/after Dam

I like to write down big/little questions we have while playing the game. Here is a question we hit today:


INTERRUPT action (Hero Die = Quick Thinking)
When are you allowed to Interrupt during other character's pages?

For Example:
If a villain attacks me, and hits me ... can I:
a. retro-actively say I Interrupted before he HIT me, to say I run away? Even after I rolled my Defense (and failed)
b. or after he hits, the Narrator asks for a Soak check. I fail badly and would be KO'd. Can I retro-actively say I interrupted (again) before he hit me? Even after I rolled my Defense & Soak and failed at both?

Up to the Narrator if they will allow it; I personally would not.
