Can you push more hits than you have?

Let's talk about the very awesome BASH!

That's basically it. If Doc Savage needs to powerstunt something to save the world, has no hero points and 20 hits - can he still "Go for Broke"?

Yes on page 26 of my copy of BASH: Ultimate Edition it says...
You can only push yourself while you are conscious, but can take damage from it putting you below 0 hits.
I’m figuring that you’d have to heal that many negative Hits, in addition to the positive 50 Hits you’d need to heal, before you become conscious again. At Brawn + Agility hits per day, that could be a pretty decent hospital stay!

It also opens up the possibility of a Final Sacrifice, for the right sort of game.

A lot of heroes say they are willing to die for what they believe in, this is a way to make that possible in a truly heroic way.

Yes, and a great way to retire that old, beloved character.

It could also be an interesting chance to try out that new character, for a break, whilst your old favourite lay in the hospital. It sort of reminds me when the Vision lay in that strange android version of a comatose state for a number of Avengers issues. The same, I guess, goes for Professor X of the X-Men (though I only seem to remember this from some of the cartoon shows).

Thanks, I'm a little embarrassed I didn't pick that up myself having read the section before posting :).
