Emotion Control?

So I decided to jump into submitting some characters for the next Hero Pack for ICONS. As always, I like to convert the characters for BASH. I randomly created one who has the power of emotion control, which isn't featured in BASH UE. I figure it would be an alternate power to Mind Control, but past that I'm kind of stuck at the moment. So i figured I'd post here, and see if anyone wanted to help brainstorm a version of this for BASH

Depends on what a character can do with ist. I have a villain in my campaign able to control emotions. I used the Daze power (target is overwhelmed by emotions) and linked it to the weaken Mind power (it is hard to fight emotions). Also the character has the Suggestion power, which is great in my eyes to represent influencing a target through his or her emotions.
For sensing emotions Telepathy is the way to go...

It sounds like a weaker version of Mind Control actually. I'd just make it 4 points instead of 5.
The Player gets to decide what emotion is created. The Narrator gets to decide how the affected person reacts.
Remember there are 2 reactions to Fear: Flight... and FIGHT!

I like that BASHMAN.
It might be good to give it Extra Effect - Lasting, or Extra Effect - Without Concentration, so as to make the emotion last for more than a single scene, or carry on without the conscious control of the power's wielder.
I have visions of frenzied madmen running through the streets in a rage, or a love spell that lasts the whole issue and alters the behavior of the affected even when [s]he is not being actively controlled.

I'd say that if the emotion can be focused vs. a specific person, that that might be equal to Mind Control in cost.

Here's an idea
Emotion Control: Mind Control [Limit: Situational (The character can only control the emotional state os his/her target). 4pts
Emotion Control would not make the target a mindless puppet. It would restrict the range of choices an emotionally controlled charcter could make (at least until he/she finally won the Mind Contest).
The hero, under the influence of Emotion Control (Peaceful Feelings) would be forced to constrain his actions to non-violent, calm activities. Though wouldn't feel the need to strike the villain he could still passively make his way over to the doomsday device and pull its power cord knowing that it would be the right thing to do but not feeling the urgency to do it now.

I like the idea, though methinks 4 points is a bit on the steep side. Sounds more like a 3 point power (in between suggestion and Mind Control).
Emotion Control: Concentration 3pts
You can cause an emotional state, such as Fear, Anger, Lust, Love , Depression, Happiness, Despair or Joy in a target. The target is effected with that emotion for the scene.
To cause emotion in a target opposed mind checks are made.
A person under Emotion Control can be “snapped out of it” by an ally who spends their page making a Mind Contest against you to free them from control.

Maybe add that having a severe emotion likely induces a Minor Hindrance as well to certain rolls (decided by the Narrator).

Hey WaylanderPK, great work! I like the idea of it being its own power and agree with BASHMAN on the addition of a Minor Hindrance penalty with severe emotional states.

Perhaps when Awesome Powers goes Psionic, this would be a good thing to add as an "in between" Suggestion, Daze, and Mind Control.
One thing though; the Minor Hindrance needs to be in such a way that it does not step on the toes of Confusion power.
(although Confusion power might be a good way to model extremely unbalanced emotional states, however)

Well a -1 Dice Modifier would probably be a good start for a minor hindrance. But each emotional state could very well have its own effects.
Off the top of my head.
Fear, -1 dice modifiers for all actions
Anger, -2 dice modifier on defence, +1 dice modifier on to hit
Lust, -2 dice modifier on social skills against object of lust
Love, +2 Dice modifier on actions that protect the object of the targets love.
Depression Mind Roll to perform any action of be at -2 Dice modifier for it.
Happiness +1 Dice modifier on all rolls
