Linked Powers

Post by bigsteveuk »

Hi Guys,

I am creating a new hero for one of my players who is an ice controller. Her main attack is a touch immobilisation attack, but I want people to take damage so long as they are encased in ice.

So would this be correct

Cold touch (immobilisation 2, Continual Damage x3, Linked)

Immobilisation 2 pts
Continual Dmg 3 pts
Linked 2 pts

Total = 7 pts.

Also to conjure ice made weapons such as throwing knives what would be the cost?

Cheers,

Steve

Cool idea but it is actually cheaper. For the Cold Touch power, you have to technically use Continual Damage as the main (base) power upon which to link the second power as its more expensive:

i.e. COLD TOUCH: Continual Damage 3 Linked with Immobilization 2. [Total cost for power is 5pts (3 for first power plus 2 to link a second power to it).]

For any real-world melee weapon, all you'd need is the Conjuring power at rank 2 (and you could save a point on the cost with the limitation: Situational (objects created are made of ice and will melt in just a few minutes).

A Narrator might allow your "ice weapons" to resist melting for as long as your character is holding it; but they'd probably start losing structural integrity within a couple of pages after release.

Another alternative limit on the conjuration power would be to restrict the character to being able to create only weapons as opposed to anything (like ice sculptures).
