One of the game mechanics that I used to love from when I used to play Champions (4th ed) was the possibility of doing a Presence attack. Any hero (or villain for that matter) could do a presence attack which would essentially have a chance to intimidate or awe a target. And the chances of the presence attack would be increased if the hero would say, add an impressive soliloquy or smash something. And this was not a power. Any hero had a chance to do a presence attack.
Is there anything like that in the BASH UE rules?

Sort of. The rules imply it can happen (see the Appeal and Frightening Presence advantages, for example), but doesn't go into too much detail about how to resolve it mechanically. However, Bashman posted some rules for it in this thread (the linked post and then some modifications in the next few posts beneath it). And I have been using the same rules for more than just intimidation, and its worked well the couple times it has come up.

Wow cool! I totally dig intimidation!! And I can see where it could be used to elicit other responses (maybe persuasion, fast talking/befuddlement/distraction, etc.). And I really like using advantages (like frightening appearnce) to enhance such rolls. Nice work!
Again, can we get this put into the Awesome Powers book?
