Spending a HERO DIE for "Interupt Actions"??

I think this might have come up before.... but


CORE QUESTION: Can you spend a Hero Die for an "Interrupt Action" that allows you to use your entire Panel of actions?



Looking through the rules (as well as searching via PDF find) I can't find any specific definition or notation for exactly what an "Interrupt Action" is.
In several places the rules suggest you can spend a Hero Die to take an "Interrupt Action", however the only place it refers to Interrupt for the cost of a Hero Die is under "Take the Hit" (which isn't even listed under Hero Die uses, it's listed under "Special Combat Rules")

The "HOLD OFF" action under "What Can I Do in a Single Combat Panel?" seems like it suggestions you can use an "Interrupt Action" to use your entire Panel of actions.
At nowhere in the rules (that I've found) does it say you can spend a Hero Die to "interrupt" and get an additional action or a full new panel of actions.
HOWEVER....
Searching though... the ONLY things I can find (in the RAW) regarding what you CAN do with an "Interrupt Action" are:


Dive into the way of an attack meant for someone else, or provide cover to someone in a Burst. [p.22, "Take the Hit"]

Hold onto an explosive and let it blow up in your hands or fall on it, so that only you take the damage from it instead of everyone else. [p.22, "Take the Hit"]

Counter, weaken, or turn off a similar (or opposite) power. [p.55]
Dampen damage from X (a source your Mastery could affect) over a large area. [p.55]

Shrink (turn off Growing power) to normal size in reaction to attacks. [p58]

Yes, you can use a Hero die to interupt, but it is typically to do just one thing. So if Cold King decides to do an Ice blast and freeze some innocent bystander, Sun Boy can interrupt to do a Heat Blast and melt away the blast.

Yes. But your example DOES fall under the notes I made that are in the RAW as:
Counter, weaken, or turn off a similar (or opposite) power. [p.55]

My question is... Can you do OTHER actions, that do not "help" others directly. So, for your example:

If Cold King decides to do an Ice blast and freeze some innocent bystander, Sun Boy can interrupt to ...

- save the bus full of children that Cold King's buddy Cruncher is teetering off the side of the bridge! By taking an action to weld the bus-bottom to the bridge.

OR

- take an action to heal himself, through the power of the sun!

OR

- take an action to Taunt Cold King, to either disrupt his action or inspire his team to give his teammates a bonus to their next action.

etc... etc...

My point...
Can that "Interrupt Action" be ANYTHING you can do with a normal single action?

Yes, you can do any of those things. What you can't do is take an entire panel's worth of actions, like "Fly 50 yards while turning on Infrared vision, Invisibility, Ghost Form, and Shapeshift before you finish by blasting somebody. "
