BASH! Horror
So what do you think could or would something like BASH! Horror do well?

Not bad.TommyBrownell wrote:Basic Action Supernatural Horror.
Personally I think it would be cool to set it apart from other horror games. By that I mean perhaps it could utilize generic equivalents of the classic Universal Monsters and the core setting be old school black & white horror.
Of course with the BASH third party license I suppose all that it would take is putting it together.

I voted YES. I wish I could vote more than one. A few years ago I discovered that I love Horror gaming only just less than supers gaming. I thought of trying to put together some basic rules for horror gaming as a BAM article many times.
I would love a fast and simple system for horror and BASH would be perfect. It could even be scaled to purist - your probably going to die - adventures right up to WoD Vampire (or beyond; into the Hellboy realm).
It all comes down to what options you allow, and at what power scale. Just like BASH: Fantasy you need to provide a list of "Powers" that are typical of horror victims (err, heroes). Using the Stat scale form BASH: Fantasy would be good enough. There would be no "Soak", except as maybe a "Power" for higher levels of play similar to D20 Modern's "Shadow Chasers" campaign model.

Personally, I think it would be best to provide just the framework of rules necessary to run Horror games WITH any of the main rulebooks (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, or Supers). Putting this freely into BAM will give bench-sitters just one more reason to invest in BASH.
I'd recommend sticking to just investigation/survival horror level rules for game-play. That allows BASHMAN the option of going full tilt into a Horror gaming rulebook if he wants to that will offer buyers tons more options for greater customizationability. [And we help support the creator of one of the world's greatest game systems.]
Again, I think horror rules would be awesome!
