Taking a break due to death in family

Hey all,

I don't normally post personal stuff online, but as this is/was a major situation, I felt it necessary to do so, so no one wonders/worries about my absence.

On January 27th, my father passed away. He had suffered a massive stroke the week before, and though we held out hope for a recovery, it just wasn't to be. Needless to say I and my family are devastated by this loss. we now have the unsavory task of dealing with his estate, and any debts he may have outstanding.

Obviously, this has diminished my interest in roleplaying, so I'm going to be taking a break from the various forums for awhile. I'll probably check in to read threads and such, but won't be making any real contributions. It's also likely that this situation will prevent me from getting into publishing my own material, but that is still up in the air.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know what was going on, so no one would wonder about my absence.

My condolences, sir. I dealt with the same situation late last year, so you have my total sympathy.

I lost my Father 5 Years ago. I hope it all goes well and know that we all support your need for the absence. Grieve as you need and come back soon!

I'm so sorry to hear the bad news, ubwar. My father passed away last January, so I know exactly how you feel. You'll be missed 'round these parts, but we'll be here whenever you are able to come back. Be well, and know that others are sending their best wishes your way.

I just lost my Dad just this Friday after last. He had lung cancer and it killed him little by little. I still haven't accepted the loss completely, he taught me a lot about life by just living the way he did. I understand how you feel. Hang in there you will make it.
