Young Justice and Mighty Avengers

The new Young Justice series starts this Friday (at least in the US). Are you guys excited about it? I know I am. My kids and I had fun watching the pilot. I think the series has promise.
Oh and what do you guys think of Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes? I've been enjoying the heck out of it quite a lot as well. Great to see, for example, a talking/intelligent/wise-cracking Hulk, a Thor who speaks with Elizabethan English and is somewhat of a fish out of water, a spunky formidable Wasp, a non-* version of Hank Pym. And what a great cast of villains! It does seem to finally capture some of the feel of the classic Marvel Universe.
Your thoughts please?

I love both shows.
Young Justice: Great Show, and also shows that DC isn't always so squeeky clean, even compared to Marvel.
Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes: Marvel, your apology for canceling Wolverine and the X-Men is accepted. I think that this show is just as good. I do miss Wolverine & the X-Men; and Spectacular Spider-Man, (the fact that they cancelled those and kept Super Hero Squad made me fume with rage) but Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is a great show and worthy successor to these (though I'd rather have all 3).

hehe... just not sure about Young Justice (yet). I'm sure it will rock. But I'm just not a DC fan. MAKE MINE MARVEL.
That said... "Earth's Mightiest" is the best adaption of the Avengers (or any other supers comic) I've seen. They're using the old original story lines, comics, events and style mixed with the modern (i.e. everything from the origin of the Avengers, Wasp naming the team to recent Skull War hints!).
I also like that they've went away from Marvel Continuity a little, just enough to have their own continuity to be able to include the best of the best (Earth's mightiest, duh!) by being able to include the Hulk on the team. They did this in the (for kids) Marvel Adventures comics to my liking.
Now I love the longevity of the Marvel (and DCU) Universe but I really really like being able to have a continuity where the "heart" of the characters and style of the setting is able to play without being bogged down in 40+ years of comic continuity.
That all said...
I also *like* the Super Hero Squad. LOL
I know it's goofy and totally for kids, but before Earth's Mightiest (believe it or not) it was my choice for the best cartoon adaption of character's style and storyline.
Honestly... I think we gamers can get A LOT of "use" from cartoons like these. (from the classic Batman Animated Adventures to even Super Hero Squad!) Their plots are so short and spunky, to fit in a 1/2 hour timeslot. And their agressive scene development does alot for ideas for "Narrating" your own home stories. I'd use these cartoons as a "research" guide for making a "Narrator's Guide" for BASH! were I to write one.
Because once the solid simple storyline is in place, you can "get" as detailed and deep as you like with the plots. A solid framework is the example these cartoons give us.
Not to mention COOL imagery and ideas for how battles/action could play out in-game.
I watch and take notes many times. hehe

Bashman, I agree about missing Wolverine and theXmen as well as Spectacular Spidey! Two fab shows that got it right and the PTB axe them early on. Fools!!!! So YJ and Avengers definitely help to relieve this pain. Let's just hope the PTB let them mature!
Kev, great points about there being good source material. In fact there is TONS of good stuff in Avengers. The show has a good combination of individual story plots with arcs that could be very useful in game plotting. And I do like all the actual baddies. Hydra is excellent! And gotta love Baron Zemo and the rest. Giant walking skull mechs...check....
