a logo for my BASH! stuff

Hey folks,

I was toying around today with making a logo for the BASH! stuff that I'm doing. I have fun doing this kind of thing. So I'd love to hear what you think, I have two options.

The theme or point is "wide eyed Kirby 4 colored style BASH! action". Tell me what you think, which one fits or is cooler.
The both have the same "base". The title of my "line" of work is "HEROIC".

This one is meant to be a "robin" style mask. "boy wonder" style.

This one is more heroic with some Kirby dot fun.

Anyway... Both could be used in many ways. They're striking in B/W as well. And the "halftone" background could always be extended for long vertical or horizontal use. And/or the mask/man could be used separate of the "HEROIC" word.

thoughts?

hehehe.... thanks!
Any preference?

I've always liked (and wanted to use) the classic "robin" style domino mask for a logo like this. Then again, using a Bruce Timm style hero as the image is appealing to me as well.
Hence two choices.

The idea is to have one of these (or something) to be my personal "imprint" for a logo, for when I create a character or an adventure or something... Similar to what AslanC is doing here: http://bashtalk.org/modules.php?name=Fo ... light=logo

thanks for thoughts

But if I HAD to chose one... I would chose the first one :)

Oh and excellent use of Kirby Dots!

I could see the first logo used for a prominent location, and the second as a faded watermark on pages like character sheets.

Uh.... Inspired me?!! hehe

Thanks folks.
I appreciate the voting. Strangely I've gotten such a mix of some folks liking one and about the same liking the other - I really find myself still unresolved. :(

That said - if you have any thoughts on WHY you like either one, or why you don't like the other (and are willing to explain) that might help.

Not a world shattering need - but if you dig telling me, I dig listening to advice of "consumers" (better said "fans") of this type thing!

PS... I'm also considering working on a version of the second image with a more KIRBY inspired hero icon character. I'll post it if I do.
thanks!

To be honest, my one hesitation about the first one is the potential confusion about the object. Is it a mask or a bra? :D

I love the pose on the second one, and the increased existence of Kirby dots displayed is a plus too. I can see why it might be too detailed if shrunk to a small size, though, which is why I viewed the first one as better for title logos.

Maybe the shape of the eyeslits could be changed to be a little more "bat-man-y" and then it couldn't be confused for a bikini top.

My vote is the second one. The first has too much, umm... I want to say white space, but obviously there's colored background so that probably isn't the right term... :) But the name at the top and the mask at the bottom are too far apart (IMO) with no foreground element occupying the space between them. I find the second image is more "balanced" in that sense, with a foreground element taking up a pleasing amount of the total space. Plus, I like the pose! :)
