Talk about anything, but keep it civil

I wish. Every year, I want to go. I can't justify that much travel and expense, though. Have a great time!

I'm debating whether to go this year since I'm living in Ohio now and am within striking distance of Indy.

I think the real question...

Is BASH going to be at GENCON?

It is possible, but not certain. I haven't already bought tickets or anything.

Is Kinetic on these boards? I saw the "GenCon The great big open gaming planning" thread and saw he mentioned being willing to run BASH and another person who wanted to try it out, and that was only on the first page of the thread.

If Kinetic is on these boards I'd like to know if this is going to happen because playing BASH at GenCon would be kind of awesome.

I'm not going. It's not in my budget.

Maybe with more published writing under my belt.

Always wanted to go but can't afford it, not to mention the drive would kill me.

I'll be going to Gen-Con! I'll be in the 'Anime Artists Alley' drawing pictures this year. If anyone wants to stop by and say 'hi' I'd be happy to chat :)

Well, now I need to really reconsider attending GENCON. I'm nominated for an ENnie, and if at all possible, I'd like to attend the ceremony.

The bad news is that we're moving that week as well- which may make it impossible for me to go :(

However my wife is very kind & understanding and said "we'll do whatever we can to see that you get there."

The thing is, I need to book a flight, find a place to stay, and get into the convention (is there a free pass for nominees, I wonder?).

Any advice/suggestions?

In case I cannot attend, I may ask someone to accept on my behalf (in case I actually win).

Round trip flight for me ran about $430 from Spokane, WA. As for housing, I would seriously consider talking to anyone you know that is going to see if you can steal a piece of floor or check out the hotels that are a little ways out from the convention center. They seem to have lower rates.

As for badges, I don't think they have free passes but you might want to talk to the guys at IPR. Maybe they can help get you in if you work off the badge at their booth? Kind of short notice, but they might be able to work something out for you. Worth a try, right?

Well, I just stumbled into the game (and subsequently into the forums), so I'm not exactly well-known, but I will be attending GenCon (and running a few games) and would love to find a BASH game running somewhere.

I mean, reading the rules and all is fine and dandy, but nothing compares to actually playing it to get the feel. :)

As it turns out I will be unable to attend myself. I have asked Brennan Taylor from IPR to accept on my behalf in case Basic Action Games wins an award.

I'd really like to go to another con again sometime, but alas this year, I have not enough spare change in the pocket.
