Can we see some screenshots of a BASH! character being made in Metacreator?

I'm working on a print filter so I need to enter some sample data. Making this a perfect time to do a few screen shots. I'll use one of your characters from the super builds forum.

Ok, Here are some screenshots:

Each character is broken into different windows. The stats appear on the main window. The other windows have a picture, powers, and skills. Each window can be open, closed, resized, and moved around.

Close up of the Powers window. I still need to work on the display to remove the '1's after the powers.

Image
Double click the "Special Attack" power and you open the power's details. Here I change the name of the power by typing 'Star Bolts'. If you click on the dmg or hit lines you can adjust their values. Clicking on 'New' will allow you to add enhancements and limitations.

Image
I click on 'OK' and close the Special Attack window. Notice that the name has changed in the powers window.

I was looking at MetaCreator tonight and wasn't too sure on the software vs. cost, but *... I think this just sold me. I was looking at doing a PHP version that would export entered data to a .JPG template but how does the finished product look with this one?

I've never used anything like this before but ti seems pretty cool. Does it have a final presentation of the total character sheet?

I haven't created a print template yet, but you can pretty much duplicate any character sheet you could want.

More details in my next post.

It will, I just haven't created it yet.

Metacreator can output characters in two ways, as a graphical character sheet or through a text filter. The filter output is designed to create a text file that can be imported into other programs. I've written filters to output to plain ASCII text, Rich text, and HTML, creating XML files would be easily done as well.

I'm planning on writing a filter that will output the character with BBcodes for pasting into forums.

It's also possible to create files that will allow you to output multiple characters at once, like a combat summary sheet.

Do you mean the MetaCreator program or the template for BASH?

The template isn't done yet but I hope to have a working version ready next weekend.

Metacreator is available from AlterEgo Software. Either directly via the link above or it can be purchased from various online gaming sites like RPGNow/DrivethruRPG and I think that SteveJackson's e23 also carries it.

You can purchase it with a template like SavageWorlds or it can be purchased slightly cheaper with out a template.
