Hey all. I just wanted to give all BASH gamers notification for Fainting Goat game's new, hard-edge rpg setting, EXTREME EARTH. It is a fantastic, dystopian future for supers gaming.
They are preparing to launch a Kickstarter to build the funds needed to finish the project. If you are interested, you can find some fantastic art and information for it at their Facebook page:

So can you give me some details?

EXTREME EARTH pushes the realities of our world to the extreme (pun intended). Set just a little into the future, traditional global nations and secretive organizations all struggle for the dwindling reserves of the worlds natural resources. This is still mostly on a covert level, though outright war is a closer possibility.
One of the main assets used by organizations and nations are the those rare individuals, like the player's characters, that have 'special' abilities (read as super powers).

Except for a rare handful of individuals, most supers in this setting would be basically Mystery Men leveled characters (though individual Narrators can certainly modify this for their own games if they prefer).
This setting will definately have a more Iron Age feel to it and powers will be rather low-scaled campared to typical four-colour supers games.
By default, players will be part of an 'expendable' trouble team used to deal with significant situations that will probably involve a lot of covert operations and straight-up firefights. Players can bolster any lack of offensive powers with firearms.
In a way, they are like a super-powered version of the A-Team or The Losers.

I just found a link for a blog post made by Joe Bardales who is doing the main writing chores for the Extreme Earth setting (as well as all the ICONS rpg stats). It will give anyone interested a better idea of what this setting has to offer.

The image at the bottom of the blog post will give you an idea of the quality of art you can expect from EXTREME EARTH and is done by the amazing Jon Gibbons. This link, below, will show more of his work (including a few of the other pieces he’s done for EXTREME EARTH).

No problem. This setting is looking like it will be a pretty large book with lots and lots of great supers art. It will be available in a number of game systems too (Icons, Mutants & Masterminds, Supers, plus Fate Excellerated Edition as well IIRC). Fainting Goat Games wants to hit this thing big with their Kickstarter - though I'm not yet sure when they will be ready for launch.
For BASH, heroes will be just above Mystery Men in scale, having 22 charcter points (plus or minus for Hero Points or Setbacks). It is definately going to be a low scale supers setting and very hard-hitting.
I know I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this book and I'm sure others will too once they are closer to launch and willing to reveal more.

Hey Jon, nice to see you over here at the BASH Forum. You might know me better as Ben Norman, the fellow that has been making the BASH conversions on Joe Bardales awesome ICONS stats.
Since this project has begun, I've become quite a fan of your work (especially your picture called The Wreck - but that was from before I had even heard of Extreme Earth)!

Hi Ben! I thought Mr Jupiter may have been you..
Thanks for the praise mate, funny enough "the Wreck" was a practice piece that was never used by a publisher so is still up for grabs! lol.
I'm liking the BASH conversions of the EE characters Ben.

Thanks. Some of them have been challenging but quite a bit of fun to make. I'm looking forward to starting on the villains for the included adventure.

Here's an update for anyone interested in the EXTREME EARTH distopian supers setting. I have finished the stat builds for the BASH version of the characters and written the conversion notes.
Recently Jon Gibbons and Joe Bardales, the two main forces behind this setting, participated in an interview conducted by Alyssa Faden via a google hangout. The two discuss the evolution and development of the Extreme Earth setting. Check it out to learn more.
Enjoy
