As of now, only 6. However, I still need to post the info and spread the word at some forums aside from this one.

PS- feel free to spread the word about this yourselves!

Will you let us know if Bashman approves this Aslan? I would be interested in such a contest.
I already said I approved of it in another thread. But yes, I approve of Aslan's idea. I also approve of people buying slots for friends as gifts if they want (as long as the friend is cool with it).
Aslan, what are your contest rules?

:(

Absolutely!
What are the contest conditions (ie. what do YOU want/need, other than the requirements of BASHMAN's book?)

And how many characters can one person "entry"? Maybe you should make a new thread for this?

I'd love to try.

AWESOME Ade!
Some thoughts/questions to maybe help (myself and others).

I have my idea, I need to finish stats and full background. I also have 2-3 "samples" of character style/images that I have started putting together in Photoshop (I'm not an illustrator but I can combine art to get my idea well).

I have those several "pieces". Would it be okay to finish the parts needed for BASHMAN's requirements and send that in with my "parts" and a good description to give you enough to start illustrating?

I used to do that in Art Direction. Build a page of different comic characters and logos/images, weapons, etc... pieces of characters that I'd like to "combine" to make my own unique character design.

Is that how you like having info?
Do you want less?
Do you want more?

How do you like receiving art direction on these characters? Or more importantly. How much "direction" did you have for the current images we've seen you do? Is there a short description we could read for one (or more) of those characters? To know what helps YOU come up with the idea.
How much of the idea is your original design compared to your interpretation of the writer's original idea? Either are awesome, as they produce excellent art in the end, it'd just be great to know how to get it to you best when submitted.

Plus... I'm always curious about the art process!! hehe
thanks

Opps... I missed that

Okay the idea is this;

Present characters to me, I will pick the one I like the most and pay his entry into the contest.

Sound fair?

hey again. Ok, so far people have provided both descriptions and sample pic to get how their character should look which has all proven helpful.
My main priority is getting a picture of the character that the player likes and is happy with. If you have a particular color, logo, weapon or anything else that you would like to see your character with I will do my best to include everything. Oh and of course I get to see the power builds too so I will try to have the character "doing" something involving these too. Hope this helps shed a little more light on the subject.

Heh. Part of my hold-up in getting a submission ready is figuring out exactly what to give you in terms of the visual description. (Well, that, and condensing her extensive background into less than 100 words.) ;)

I have a very clear picture in my mind of what my character looks like; the trick is conveying that image accurately. :)

@Nestor you can have the full description too- I just need a short one to put on the character sheet, like the sheets you may have seen me post in the builds section.

And good news for Mr. Jupiter:

Here's Mass Attack

I am really enjoying looking at the pics, and trying to figure out their powers and backgrounds, which I hope I don't find out until the whole thing is published... I like the suspense.

Will there be an update to what type of characters have been submitted (rather than just the admittedly very cool pictures) so people don't spend time making a character that's already been entered in a slightly different guise?

I'm still hoping to come up with something cool.

Just as an aside, is BASH! likely to go down the Drivethrurpg/rpgnow Print on Demand route? Only asking as it has a UK printer which cuts down on postage costs - although I believe Lulu is cheaper now.
