Sweet. Do me a favor and steer clear of Brawn 5 -- in the campaign's "reality," no single hero or villain has hit that by WWII.

Looking forward to seeing him.

Also, thanks to those of you musing about flight speeds.

And Saker -- sounds good about the gear. No need to work it all out in advance, certainly, and we will be seeing the characters in costume most of the time -- at least for Issue 1. If we all have a rollicking good time, we'll see what happens.

Kevperrine -- if "Flashback" is actually an unofficial house rule disadvantage, why not call it something more in line with what's actually happening? "Easily Distracted" or whatnot. Also:

-Nice detail on Maggie, thanks.
-You're right on the mental skills. Whoops.
-All clear on the Weakness now, cool.

He's good to move.

In fact, the following PCs can be moved to the thread I'll set up tonight in the PBP Section...

Lady Paramount, American Rubber, Cauchemar (please add Mental Malf), Blockade, Sky Marshall, Unknown Soldier.

We're very nearly ready to go.

Glad you told me that. I had him set at 5, but lowering it to 4 is no problem on my end. Superman wasn't as strong as he is now when he first appeared, so it makes sense

Cool. 4 will be plenty to show off. I like to have an internal consistency -- so if there's time travel or some sort of funny business like that, the playing field is level. Kind of the super-human arms race. The first supers I see having Brawn 5 in my Paragons campaign world are the atomic-powered ones in the 1960s.

Looking forward to seeing him!

Anti-Tank weapons, you could look at nullify armour limitation last for 1 panel.

Also you might want to look at continual dmg for the flamethrower.

The slickest way that I've seen anti-tank or armor-piercing rounds is putting the Enhancement Extra Effect: vs. Armor on the Special Attack (SA).

Since some soldiers wear Armor, maybe make the Extra Effect vs Size instead of Armor. Then, your bazookas do the real damage versus big stuff: tanks, bunkers, etc.

cheers

EDIT: removed squirrelly bits of creative and incorrect memory of Extra Effect. Thanks BASHMAN

(Really glad we have a Mystery Man type, btw.)

And hrm... not much to comment on, everything looks good. I guess one question:

1. What’s his mental malfunction?
He's seen some of the worst horrors and atrocities the world has to offer and wants to leave the world a better place for the next generation.

Note- Extra effect isn't double damage- it is +2DM. But I like the idea of Extra Effect vs. Size rather than vs. Armor. That's a good way to differentiate it.

Will look at making changes / improvements to the flamethrower and bazooka based on these suggestions tonight. Not, ahem, that I'm going to need them because they'll be being fired at your characters or anything. No. Nothing like that.

Also: Character Sheet / OOC thread is up.

I've never been one for reinventing the wheel... so I would ask - Why are you doing any work on these things when they're all listed in the BASH! UE core rule book p.80-82.

Just curious.

Where?
Do we need to do anything for this? Do you want us to post sheets or anything else?

thanks

bigsteveuk, Saker, BASHMAN -- all good ideas. Juicy actually.

-If you go the Nullify route, you get the extremely cool mechanic of seeing if the anti-tank capability is superior to the armor -- if it isn't, the Nullify doesn't work, which is exactly what I'm trying to model. If the armor isn't defeated by the velocity and mass of the round -or- the Munroe Effect, the round generally doesn't knock out the tank. And if the AT round defeats the armor, it slices through straight in the Soak. Cool.

-Alternatively, the Extra Effect enhancement is nice, simple and effective. *Especially* if I also give various armored vehicles a vulnerability to AT weapons. Nice little dynamic there.

Hmmm.

Also, kevperrine -- not reinventing the wheel, just adding a bit of (I hope) period detail to the weapon-set, differentiating some of them a bit. And trying to make the anti-tank gun vs. armored vehicle interplay a bit closer to the "reality" I'm trying to model.

And just post the sheet for now.

I like the changes you have made to the weapons, as I think x5 for the Thompson is way too much.

Yeah that is how I approached you’re AT question as it's a challenge, so if you have crappy AT with nullify x2 against a tiger with armour x4/x5 it probably won't have any major effect, but with exploding dice there is still a slim chance of that lucky shot.

I used to play a lot of wild talents, so I like a game where you have to be wary of a well-equipped team of mundanes. (MP40, MG42, Panzerfaust, flak 88 should all me names to fear, I lost my superman type character to a 2 cm Flakvierling 38).

Is anyone else having issues viewing Sky Marshall's character sheet in the OOC thread?

Maybe evil yahoo resets their file locations every night? I tried it this morning and it didn't work either. I refreshed it.

Plan B, I'm working with blackscarf to upload on the bash wiki.

Plan C. I finally broke down and got an imageshack account.

cheers

You don't need an imageshack account to use it. I don't have one, and can still upload stuff. But, I think having an account gives you more control over the stuff you do upload.

Just an update. urbwar is closing in on finishing up Major Meteor, so I'm planning on getting underway and letting him finish during our first / introductory scene. So look for it tonight if the stars align for me...
