stoopid villain ideas!?!!!
Hey folks,
I'm building these for a BASH! super hero RPG.
One of the fun things about super hero comics is all the fun authors and readers end up coming up with to parody and make fun of the actual heroes.
Comics/Cartoons like "The Tick", "Mystery Men", and even "Venture Bros" do this awesomely.
What I'd like some ideas for, for my upcoming one-shot with BASH! is some really fun, semi-silly, goofyish, but still SMASH-MOUTH fun super villains. Ironic or throw-back fun is my favorite.
I'd also LOVE help on what type of powers these nuts should have in BASH!......
To kick this pig here are a couple of my starter ideas. Please feel free to elaborate on the idea, expand, and/or give me ideas on what types of powers and abilities they should/COULD have in using BASH!
FERAL DEER
One part 12pt buck deer, one part Dr. Doom and one part vampire with a Clint Eastwood "man with no name" accent/fixation. This "Fistful" sarape & hat wearing, cigarette smoking criminal mastermind is basically a normal deer that can talk and plan crimes! Oh and he's vampiric.
RUN-NUT
Imagine Richard Simons as a super villain able to force the wish to jog/run ("Knees Up fat-fat-fatty!!) on his victums! By doing so he allows himself and his tight-wearing minstrels to pull heists with easy. Everyone's running away... His primary target is used car lots for some unknown reason... He, himself... not a very fit/fast runner strangely enough.
SHAM'RAWK
Brad Pitt from "Fight Club" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", mixed with a rough tardbabble of undecipherable Scottish accent. He's a master of street brawl fighting, with a House of Pain "Jump Around" hip-hop attitude.
EXPLODA-BOY (aka. Dr. TNT)
A ten-year old who found his father's illegally downloaded (and print/saved) copy of that book that floated the internet about building bombs - "the Terrorist's Handbook". Since then this abnormally smart kid has developed all sorts of weapondry. Mostly based around bomb type gear using Super Soaker design styles.
BRICK LAYER
Think Brock Samson (Venture Bros), a ninja smashing brute with strength, dexterity and stamina of a horse. But horribly maimed in an accident in a toy factory. A "Best Lock"(tm) factory (Lego-clone). Best-Lock Construction Toys (a brand of plastic building bricks that are compatible with Lego), but sold much more cheaply. They defeated a patent challenge from Lego in the Oberlandsgericht Hamburg in 2005. He is now in the form of a nearly 7' lego man of his former self. And, surprisingly even MORE indestructible!! (he can break apart now too!)
PETTIFOGGER
(aka. the Ratifier, Mr. Audit, the Tax Collector, the Brick Foreman) Godtfred Kirk Christiansen (son of Ole, creator of Lego), now is on a mission retiring his leadership of the Lego company - he now patrols the world trying to stop such companies as Best-Lock. Currently he is on the hunt for Brick Layer. He is more of a "tax man" than a villain. "Taxing" anyone saying the word "LEGO" in description of anything NOT Lego (such as Brick Layer). He also sports a Denmark colored flag/cape. "Automatic Binding Bricks" is what he would prefer you call these clones. His powers revolve around removing "luck" from those using the term "Lego" improperly.
DR. NOVA...KANE
Think Dr. Octopus or Lex Luthor (in mad scientist mode) mixed with a happy dentist.
HAND-FACE Minions
These blank-faced minions scream and bite and talk through their hands that have full functioning teeth/mouths. With ninja training!
OCTO-TORSO
This odd freak villain is a normal blue-jean wearing man but popping out of his belt where his torso SHOULD be is nothing but tentacles!!!

Re: stoopid villain ideas!?!!!
I've only got a moment, so I'll just throw out a few things that immediately jumped to mind.
Several might take some inspiration from the archetypes in the book. Sham'rock could include elements of the Brawler archetype, for example, and there is a Vampire in the genre's chapter that might provide some ideas for Feral Deer.
For Run-Nut, consider the Daze power with the listed enhancement to Repel the target. Bashman clarified in a thread on the forums that the Repel option makes them move away instead of collapsing or standing in a daze.

I've done a few comical villains before that you are welcome to use:
Santa Claws:
Great Scot (You'll probably want to change his costume as he's wearing the costume that goes to his supervillain group called "The Problem"):
With the Texas State Fair about to crank up here in N. TX I was thinking about another comical villain idea (similar to Great Scot in powers) called "Big Tex". Big Tex is the mascot of the TX State Fair. And it might be funny to have a stereotypical cowboy type character who can grow really big. : http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Big_Tex.JPG
There's also Poste Haste, who I didn't create to be so comical. But it wouldn't take much to push him there. Make him a little less deadly (his letter bombs only stun and cause the heroes to be covered in black soot like looney tunes cartoons) and more slap sticky:

The closest I've gotten to doing a comical villain was Major Morality, the quintessential distillation of most every 60's/70's right wing paranoid wing-nut. His costume included those hair-brush shoulder pads and spiffy bi-corn hat for that extra "I'm a nut-case" feel. The best part was the encounter between him and a female ultra-liberal PC.
MM: "Punkin?"
PC: "Daddy!?!"
A long-running campaign I was in had Superheterodyne (pronounce "SuPAAA!!! Het'ro!!! Dyne!!!"), basically a hip-hop artist gone supervillain, with what was essentially a boom-box turned into a high-tech vehicle and sonic powers.
Sorry. That's all I got.
