BASH Trading Cards?
So while waiting for my Bash book to arrive, i've been admiring the colourful character sheets over on the character build thread. I thought it might be cool to present them like trading cards. This got me thinking that while running demos of BASH at cons and stores, they could also promote interest in the game. All i've done is reduce the sheets to 2.5" x 3.5" ( or as close as I could get ), put together a card back using the book cover and the URL of the home site. Note the black surround for villains and white for heroes. Not all of the reduced sheets are clear enough at this scale but hopefully you can see what I was aiming for. I printed the cards out, backed them and then ran them through a laminator. They could be put in card protectors, of course.

They're really not if you can do them yourself. I have a Brother HL-4040CDN that I bought for $289 with free shipping from NewEgg and it handles 110# cardstock no problem. The color is nice and vibrant, too. I printed out a copy of BASH UE from the PDF and had it coil bound, turns out my printer prints better quality than Staples does. The cover I printed out on 110# cardstock looks WAY better than the one I had them do, but c'est la vie.AslanC wrote: Are cards expensive to print up?
Now I'm looking for a laminator. Thinking about this onebut I'm not sure yet.
If you go to Staples or Kinkos you'll end up paying about $2.50/sheet, so it does add up that way. Then they charge about $2.00/sheet for lamination.

You know, one of the things I loved about Earthdawn were the boxed sets. In each of the boxed sets I have (Parlainth and Barsaive) I got extra magic item cards. The cards were just little hand-outs you could give to players that had a picture of the item on the front and some blanks on the back that they could fill out as they tied more threads to the item. It was great, adding a little something extra to the game.BASHMAN wrote:Hmmmm.... I'm thinking "boxed set" for Megapolis: Year 2...
Another great example is the DC Heroes 2nd Ed. boxed set with all the hero cards. I loved that game, precisely because of the hero cards.
