Basic Action Super Heroes!

Question - Under Wrestling it states; "...In order to free himself, the opponent must win a Brawn contest. Each panel, if the opponent fails, they continue to take damage."

So, an opponent being held could potentially take damage on their panel and the attackers panel (assuming the character failed both of their Brawn checks)?

Not sure if it is spelled out (I don't have the book with me), but the impression I'd gotten is that the Grabbed character gets one Brawn contest a page, on his panel.

Hopefully someone a bit more informed can confirm or deny this.

Yeah, that's what I figured except for the "each panel" wording. I assumed on the opponents panel their trying to break free and on the attackers panel their trying to give damage. So Brawn rolls are made in each panel.

Yes, but there would not be a Brawn contest to break free on the attacker's panel.

In other words, on each page:

* On the grabber's panel, he would either inflict damage or attempt some other action, which the grabbee could potentially defend against.

* On the grabbee's panel, he would roll to Break Free and either succeed and be able to act normally next page, or fail and continue to be grabbed.

So, in any case, only one Brawn contest to break free per page.

Hey Crose, are you using 1st Ed rules (I'd assume so)? It doesn't read that way in Bash UE, so maybe that was one of the changes.

Yeah, that's why I posted here in the 1st edition thread. I know it's a pain since the UE rules have come out but with original BASH being 16 pages it's easier to get folks to join in.
