From nowhere...
It' seems I confused the 'Push a Power' and 'the Push a Skill or Stat' rules.
So I can only 'Go for Broke' and gain a hero die for 50 hits or get a +1 for each 10 Hits of
damage to be added after my roll.

So i must reach "50 Nigh-Impossible" on one of two (2d6*2) rolls by round.
Probabilities to get a result between 6 and 8 are the highest (excluding the doubles)
So I could get a 12/16
with -50 hits and a hero die would rise this to a 18-24
If I use all my hits with the 'the Push a Skill or Stat' i could get a +5 to add after the result.
(In my opinion 'Push a Power' is way more profitable than a go for broke or a worthless 'the Push a Skill or Stat')
Even with doubles i could hardly reach 30.
And an unearthly pilot (mind of 5) with an hero die could fail that roll
So:

Despite the valiant hero's efforts the plane crashes in the central district.
The explosion raises a deep toxic cloud which spreads in the avenues nearby.
On its path the extermination is inexorable. Citizens grow stiff in panicked postures like grotesque puppets.
Some streets away, Betty stands horror-struck as the greenish haze approaches inexorably she knows Clyde didn't make it...Scars'laugh thunders distantly

Where's Curio when we need him!

In another dimension somewhere?

Sky-King climbs in to the * grapping the stick and pulling with all his life. "come on baby, come on!!"

[bash="Pilot/Control 1 Page 1"]2,0,0 = 1899504938 = Fixed[/bash]
[bash="Pilot/Control 2 Page 1"]2,0,0 = 323861162 = Fixed[/bash]

[bash="Pilot/Control 1 Page 2"]2,0,0 = 1134809084 = Fixed[/bash]
[bash="Pilot/Control 2 Page 2"]2,0,0 = 140662269 = Fixed[/bash]

[bash="Pilot/Control 1Page 3"]2,0,0 = 517072329 = Fixed[/bash]
[bash="Pilot/Control 2Page 3"]2,0,0 = 1961760770 = Fixed[/bash]

Pilot/Control 2 rolls per page take best, so on page 3 got 56.

As the plane hurtles towards the crowd sky-king can see the civllians fleeing in fear and finally the nose of the plane finally starts to pull up.

[bash="Victory barrel roll"]2,0,0 = 517072329 = Fixed[/bash]
[bash="Victory barrel roll"]2,0,0 = 1961760770 = Fixed[/bash]

"Don't worry folks I had it all in hand"

lol you didn't have to beat it in one roll.

The time frame was 4 pages so you had 4 goes which accumulated it's an extended test, just like the chase was.

I think it was a breakdown in communication

You asked
I've got to reach 50 on a single roll? Like a standard test?
Or do I have to add my rolls pages after pages?
I answered
The time frame is 4 pages so you have 4 rounds to try and bring the plane under control.
Which meant you had 4 chances to get a total of 50, I guess you thought you had 4 goes to try and roll a 50?

Any how it’s been fun and I feel we gave the system a reasonable test.

Really? you can have a skill contest on several pages (other than chases)? That's official in the rules? :oops:

Extended Checks page 27

Goals & Progress: When the Narrator calls for an extended check, the required difficulty is usually much higher than normal- 50, 100, or even higher. However, the Heroes get more than one roll to succeed. This end difficulty is called the “goal” of the check. Each time the Hero rolls, the result is added to all previous results. For example, a Hero is trying to escape a pair of handcuffs- the Narrator says this will take a goal of 50, and that the Hero can roll once per page. The first page, the Hero gets a 16. On the second page, he gets a 24, bringing his total up to 40. On the third page, he gets a 10- getting a total of 50, enough to pop free of the cuffs. The running total of a Hero’s extended check is called “progress”.

The examples that follow include examples other than just chases. So...Sky King "Lives"?

After watching the plane veer off into a barrel roll a lone figure shakes his head in disapproval. The rain begins to gently fall and the figure walks down a dark alley heading towards the wrong part of town, he stops and turns up the collars on his overcoat which conceals his dual holsters and mutters to himself “Kids!!!”

OCC:
Many thanks Volsung and it's good cause that was the whole point for us to learn how the system works.

It was fun but I felt a little loss of interest during our parallel brawls. (despite of my unavailability)
I think it would have been more fun if we had fought in the same wave of foes in cooperation instead of seperately.

edit: nice epilogue^^
