FYI: I currently live in Chicago (though not a native). So if you need any insider info for Centropolis let me know.

Nice!

I am mostly relying on Wikipedia and making it a blend of Chicago and Toronto, but if you have any thoughts or suggestions for some really "mid-west" stuff, fire it off :)

Well, for one thing there is a rumor of an "underground" Chicago". At the turn of the century the city was raised 6 feet above street level for better irrigation. (this resulted in many ground floor apartments, becoming "garden" apartments--such as the one where I live ;)

There was also an underground tunnel system for cable cars no longer in use and long ago sealed off to the public. I came across a website awhile back that had some pics of it. I'll have to find it again and post the link.

There is also the Pedway. I modern series of interconnecting tunnels for pedestrian use. I have yet to actually use this, but Batman rode through it on his motorcycle in the "Dark Knight" movie.

All of this stuff can lead to some interesting scenarios (or at least explanation) for underground villain bases etc, I would think .

And you can't for get the "El" the elevated trains that run above street level in the "Loop" downtown. Featured in Spider Man 2 when he had to stop that train from crashing.

There is a good wiki here
http://wikitravel.org/en/Chicago

that gives some good info on the different neighborhoods, local attractions, and overall vibe.

Excellent stuff!

Just remember this isn't actually Chicago ;)

Still great inspiration and I award you a Hero Point for providing it :)

No idea how to use the dice roller on this thing.

From the dice roller thread;
To make a BASH roll, the format is:

[ bash="Label" ]3,-2,5[ /bash ] (without the spaces around the brackets). The label is optional. Between the start and end tags, you need to enter the BASH multiplier, dice modifier, and result modifier in that order separated by commas.

Here is what that example of 3,-2,5 will look like:
[bash]3,-2,5 = 1946515322 = Fixed[/bash]

You can ignore any trailing zeroes, so if you have a Brawn of 3 and just want to roll your soak, you can just do [ bash ]3[ / bash ] and it will assume a 0 dice modifier and a 0 result modifier. Similarly, if your roll is a 4 multiplier with a -2 dice modifier, you can do [ bash ]4,-2[ /bash ] and it will assume a 0 result modifier. Note that the roller automatically detects doubles and implements exploding dice as per the BASH! rules so most rolls should be a one-and-done..

AslanC, any guidelines on how you want us to use the OOC vs IC threads? Obviously blatant OOC questions (like this one) should be here. What about minor specific OOC things, like rolls or quick questions about rolls? Should those be in the IC post where they are relevant (like I did on Tempest's arrival post), or would you prefer them to be here?

Rolls should be in the IC thread for sure. As well as minor questions or GM Fiats for me, etc.

Otherwise direct all OOC questions here.

Also could you all add a signature/section to your IC posts that tracks like this;

Hero Points: X
Setback Points: Y

Pretty please?

As you may have noticed I through them out like candy :)

Oh, cool, I was just trying to decide how to track that.

I started tracking hits, hero dice, hero points and setbacks in a code block. If you like that method, the editor has a Code button, which works similar to Quote or B or I - select your text and hit the button, and it will put [ code ] and [ /code ] tags around that text.

Can you show an example please?

How do you feel about starting a new thread where all of the character sheets/ backgrounds can be housed for easy reference?
