February 5th, 1984.

A cold snap has hit the city of Centropolis. Temperatures are well below freezing and there are no signs of it getting any warmer soon.

You have all gathered by invite in an underground parkade that you didn't even know existed until you were given directions to the entrance.

You can hear the howls of the cold winter winds coming off Lake Superior into the city, chilling you to the bone.

The first to arrive is...

Front-Runner zips into garage in a red and yellow blur of motion and screeches to an abrupt stop. His lips are blue and the parts of his face exposed by his mask are windburnt.

"G-g-gotta, winterproof this costume. " he says through chattering teeth. He looks around, "Am I the first to get here? That happens all the time. "

"Not the first this time fleet foot."

You look over and see a man in a tawny costume, full face mask with red outlines around the eyes and a paw print over his left breast.

He doesn't stand very tall, and his chestnut brown hair is worn long and comes out the mask.

Narrator Voice: Roll a Mind check vs 10 to recognize him.

Despite your question, you recognize him right away from the blurry pictures in the Centropolis Clarion, he is known as The Ferret!

He's most famous event is taking down an underboss of the Romano Mob, an act that earned him a Death Mark.

He looks at you and chuckles.

"Come on man, you don't know who I am? I'm the friendly neighborhood ... wait... that's another guy... I'm the Ferret man! Everybody's heard of me."

[Note: That is an old picture done by my GF in college, I so want to get a new version done ]

He shakes his head a little, but seems amused.

"Just the Ferret... no man. No need to turn this into an Abbott & Costello routine."

He climbs up onto a waist high security railing and perches with uncanny balance.

"So who else has been invited to this little soriee?"

Front-Runner resists the urge to respond that "Who" is in fact on first.

"Beats me, I just got a message to show up here... you don't think it's a trap do you?"

[OOC: do I know anything more about him? Powers, etc? Is the mayor or anybody around? Or is it just the two of us? ]

"Nah. Been her for two hours already. Went over every inch of the place. Nobody here but us."

The sound of a high powered engine rumbles through the parking structure, and a late-model red corvette enters the garage level where the meeting takes place. It slows as it approaches, and swings into an empty parking space about 50' away. A young man in a red and black costume hops out and approaches the others, appraising them and the surroundings.

With an easy grin, he announces "Well, you're not exactly who I was hoping to meet at this mysterious rendezvous, but then I suppose Madonna was pretty unlikely."

Ferret rolls his eyes and just groans out a "Oh dear God they invited him... why him?"

Narrator Voice: It is a default 15 for everyone. So there you go. For fun let's say you and Ferret ran across each other on a case. Something to do with the Russians bringing in Eastern European women for white slaver/prostitution. You got in each others way sort of, and while the girls got rescued the Mobster got away. So no love lost there. Pick up an Hero Point for me shoving a plot point onto you. Also I forgot, Heroglyph you get one for being first to post

Tempest hesitates for a half second as he pretends to search for your name, and his grin grows wider as he continues, "Errr, the Weasel, wasn't it? And you must be Front-Runner. I saw that article on you in the Clarion."

Ferret just ignores Tempest as he speaks, and when Tempest turns his back, Front-Runner can clearly see him give the finger to Tempest's back.

Narrator's Voice: There are two papers of note in Centropolis. The major paper is the Clarion (Think Daily Planet). The other is a tabloid paper, considered much more sensationalist (like the Daily Bugle) which is called the Centropolis Daily Star, or just The Star. Both have been around for years, but the Star only went tabloid a few years ago after losing the battle for being a respectable paper to the Clarion back in the late 70's. Now it has high circulation and color photos on every page, and it hates all Super Heroes except for "Captain Max". Speaking of;

There is a gust of air that sends all manner of debris into the air and blows all your hair back as well.

"I HOPE I'M NOT TOO LATE?"

The booming voice is strong, clear and a little bit cheesy. As you turn, any of you who have watched TV or turned on a radio in Centropolis know who it is before you even lay eyes on him.

The Star calls him the "greatest hero in Centropolis" though the Clarion refers to him as an incompetent who is out of touch with the times.

Most on the street call him an idiot.

Captain Max smiles at you with the giant goofy grin that has been plastered on bill boards, tv spots and the sides of buses around the city for the past couple of years.

"I don't think I need any introduction."

Behind you Ferret groans loudly and mutters something to himself.
