A retraction on my statement on the Variable enhancement!

I was thinking about it and I'm fine with players choosing what damage type their attack is if they have the Variable enhancement.

It needs to make sense based on the nature of your power, or what you are attacking with!

For instance, an Earth based attack could easily be Crushing or Piercing, but not Heat. If Chance caused a power line to fall on someone, it would be electric, etc

If someone is making a Special Attack that could easily be anything (Detective Zero's blaster, Chance's misfortune attack), I ask that you narrow it to three types of damage at creation.

Do you need any help creating anything to prepare this game?
I need character portraits so I can make tokens for the maps. I don't mind making a pic once a character is nailed down, but finding/creating your own would speed things up. This game will use maps a lot more.

Also if anyone has maps with grids of warehouse areas, docks, maybe a large fishing boat, a nice city street, etc that would save me a ton of time. If it's a maptools image, that's cool, I can port it over to the program I use. I want to keep maps in the 20x20 square range, no sense in them being larger.

I'd like to get some help stating out villains, but I don't know how to do that without giving away too much of the game. I'm an atypical gamer in that regards I guess, I hate putting numbers to character ideas.
Personally, I find making the character creation a cooperative group activity much more enjoyable and productive. But that's Dustland's call.
The more you guys work together, the better. The villains in the game will have a lot of variety when it comes to laying the smack down, so if everyone comes up with similar builds, one or more heroes may get all deadified and stuff when they come up against something that is particularly good at killing that character type.

All the same to me, it's been a while since I've killed off a PC :)

Description:
Chance Fortune is a nondescript man in his thirties about five feet ten inches tall. His blond hair always has the stylized mussed look that he wakes up with. He wears jeans, construction boots and designer shirts that he won somewhere.

Origin:
Chance Fortune grew up in Universal City (UC) with three younger sisters: Faith, Hope and Charity. After receiving the inheritance from his grandfather’s gold mine company, Chance’s father “Lucky” Luc moved to UC after WW2 to build his empire. Unfortunately, Luc only struck it rich in love and happily settled down with his beautiful Carmina to milk his inheritance raising a good wholesome family. Carmina’s father was a small time mobster who was directed to move to UC from Las Vegas to set up shop. The Burana clan went into the booming construction business.

Chance started being affected by his bloodline in high school but never noticed. He never studied or was naturally gifted, but he always got good grades. Usually his tests got accidently switched with other students; sometimes his teachers made typos; and one time the school computer database crashed. His good grades got him a full scholarship to local Universal University (UU) where he started failing miserably. Luckily, his campus residence was next to the horse track where he started spending his afternoons and evenings. He never made enough to attract attention, but he made enough to quit school and move into the city.

Fifteen years later and Chance has really never grown up. He’s never had a job, because he always wins small lotteries and raffles to pay the rent and live well. Chance isn’t well read or educated, because why bother? He continues to live in the moment care free without an ounce of ambition in his body.

When the media started hounding him for interviews after saving the mayor’s life, he honestly did not know why he was there. He was actually on his way from somewhere to somewhere else. Some would call it luck; some would call it destiny.

Nice Saker. A cool twist on Boosts Mr. Fortune. I like the special attacks listed.

I'll try to finish my character to all of you see.

Thanks. I couldn't find Boost's character when I was building him, but I certainly remembered him. I found Kev's version, too.

I wanted a character that would have a much sunnier disposition than Fenris for a change of pace.

cheers

For my Detective Zero build I've got some ideas to give him more flavour than his previous self :D
First a super vehicle ... Potentially a side car
Then the power 'summoning ' inspired from Spirit of the Century gadgeterry or Doctor Who 's genius
So he could build amazing gadgets on the fly...

Ok first the images Dustland asked for.

These are the images that are behind the concept for the character.
In this one I started with an image and tried to find the corresponding powers.

Maybe use the Alternate Power: Transmutation to represent "reprogramming" an object/tool, or Conjuring if you carry components or prepared gadgets/tools.

If you want self-powered gadgets, maybe use the Alternate Power: Animation (only machines) to give machines artificial intelligence.

Protheuz, your images look awesome.

I'm bad with images. Maybe this one, but he looks too competent:

Unh I was going through the conjuring part - conjuring magical/mechanical objects.
As conjuring requires a high mind character - so both of us would become a little similar - I can change mine if that's the case (and refocus on other magical part).

If you go summoning/animating route than I believe it's different enough.

Notice my character has Conjuring too representing things that he needs that just happen to be immediately available. It seems this team will never want for the right tool.

Protheuz
He looks a bit too divine than I imagine him, but it's better than my picture.
thanks

How do you search for a comic drawing of a rumpled, nondescript man with a contented, clueless look on his face? My Google-fu is not that good.

cheers
