Chimera: Ch 1, Mama B and Company

[Volsung]

" Nothing fancy or tragic...A tumultuous but happy childhood,a fun job and a lovely girlfriend sum up a delightful life.
I don't say I was spared by troubles and * times...There was a time when we were quite destitute... and my father is a douchebag for exemple but at least he got the merit to stay at bay...
In the end good clearly outweigh the bad.
Sure I almost died when the event occurred...You can't undergo such an adventure without repercussions...
But the fact that I was also fairly drunk shielded me against any trauma...Thanks to Jack Daniel's little fairy, I felt that brutal change like a entertainment.
For now as a Nova i'm still anonymous so i didn't faced any fear or hate...So i'm still comfy in my pants." He narrates
(Yeah take my happiness in your face! I hate that kind of guy )

[Protheuz]

"And for how long before you have to take a stand? Or stand there watching as others are being abused?
Can you look into Fenris and say it?" Asks Nycto in a low and deliberate voice, so he doesn't show emotion.

[Saker]

"That's a sad story Fenris...There's no way you could regain what you lost?"

While Javier thinks of a witty retort to his profound question, Fenris replies to Harrison. "That's why I'm here. First, it's a place where I can potentially be accepted as a human instead of horror movie villain. Second, I hope that Mama B knows a way to a cure, so I can return to a life that I enjoyed."

Fenris returns his gaze to Javier, "so far, back at home and the 'normal' people that I encounter, are not comfortable with me enough to let me live in peace. I feel like they treat me like a serial killer just by looking at me herding their kids away and retreating."

He looks at the ceiling again and closes his eyes, "when I look in the mirror, I can't blame them, because that is what I see, too. And my anger at the situation pushes me to make it all be true."

[Volsung]

"And for how long before you have to take a stand? Or stand there watching as others are being abused?

Harrison takes the blow, and clears his throat.
Finally he answers
"You're cruel Nycto...Listen if I was planning to live my life, mind my own business and stay cowardly behind the scene I wouldn't be here....I just told my story, nothing more. I know what's at stake."
//Moreover I wouldn't be stupid enough to declare my cowardice and disregard here...// he thinks.

[Volsung]

He looks at the ceiling again and closes his eyes, "when I look in the mirror, I can't blame them, because that is what I see, too. And my anger at the situation pushes me to make it all be true."

"Don't say that" Harrison declares firmly
"Never say that."
He pauses "That's true... People often judge a book by its cover.But we can help to prove them wrong."
"First,I'll gladly buy you a drink"He adds with a smile

[Nestor]

Fenris hisses, "Yess, s**t happens."

He opens his eyes and looks at Javier, "So what does matter to you, Javier?"

Javier studies the lit end of the cigarette. "Right now," he murmurs, "I got no f**kin' idea."

His eyes shift to Fenris and he wields a mirthless grin. "Guess that's why I'm here."

He looks at the ceiling again and closes his eyes, "when I look in the mirror, I can't blame them, because that is what I see, too. And my anger at the situation pushes me to make it all be true."

Javier replies with a casual air, "No offense, ese, but that sounds like a cop-out. In the end, you don't do nothin' you don' want to; blamin' it on somebody else is just lame."

"First,I'll gladly buy you a drink"He adds with a smile

Javier's grin warms. "Hey, I'll take that offer anytime," he says cheefully, assessing Harrison's atttire.

[Saker]

Javier replies with a casual air, "No offense, ese, but that sounds like a cop-out. In the end, you don't do nothin' you don' want to; blamin' it on somebody else is just lame."

Fenris opens his eyes and finds Javier. "That may sound like a cop-out to you or anyone else. But I know Fenris affects my emotions and perceptions," he pauses, "like a drug. I feel very differently than I did before the event. I guess it didn't affect you the same way. That's why I want a cure or at least rehab." He finishes with a grin exposing his over-sized canines.

"Enough of my s**t." Fenris turns toward the kitchen, "hey Mama B! Let me set the table or do something."

[Nestor]

Fenris opens his eyes and finds Javier. "That may sound like a cop-out to you or anyone else. But I know Fenris affects my emotions and perceptions," he pauses, "like a drug. I feel very differently than I did before the event. I guess it didn't affect you the same way. That's why a want a cure or at least rehab." He finishes with a grin exposing his over-sized canines.

Fenris' statement seems to strike a chord in Javier based on his reaction. He starts then glances at his tattoos as if seeing them in a different light.

[Protheuz]

"My sarge used to say... I mean ... yell "Everything changes. Get down with it or it will get you down!". Things will change." Nyctos adds to the conversation, thinking For better or for worst... But they will change..

[Volsung]

Javier's grin warms. "Hey, I'll take that offer anytime," he says cheefully, assessing Harrison's atttire.

"I thought you had no friends here Javi?" Harrison answers ironically.Then he realises Javier's gaze to his clothes.
"Nice heh?My mother got special prices on several attires. A dollar is a dollar"

" That's why I want a cure or at least rehab."

"There's still hope Fenris. According to the media, the event has given a whole variety of powers around the world. What if some people could heal, or at least change someone's aspect...Who knows? Simply walking around without everyone crossing over to the other side of the road would be such a relief...

[Dustland]

Mama B directs Fenris to grab the plates and silverware who then begins to set the table. Others help carry the pot of chili and the cornbread into the dining room; soon you all are gourging on Mama B's wonderful cooking. For some, this is the first time in recent memory you've felt at ease; the atmosphere, which was contentious a few minutes ago, is now filled with good natured ribbing and laughter.

Mama B explains that she is a retired nurse, living alone in this house ever since her husband passed away a few years ago. She goes on to tell her story during The Event:

"My boy, Daniel, he got involved with the wrong folks here in town. Nothin' I could do about it, though I sure tried. Prayed and prayed til my knees bled and I had no more tears for the cryin'.

"That day he got together with his associates and robbed a bank. Didn't go too well, cops shot most of 'em dead. Daniel holed up in the bank, took him some hostages, then decided he was goin' to kill himself.

"I knew the police captain, he had me talk to him, try to talk him out of killing himself you see. It weren't going too good, no sir. Then, somethin' changed, The Event, and the words I needed came to my head and poured out my mouth just as easy as saying 'Hello' on the phone.

"Daniel was cryin', askin' me to forgive 'em. I was a cryin' too. Heck, I had everyone in tears by the time he came out and surrendered. Long story short, by the grace of God, my boy didn't hurt no one, didn't take his own life neither.

"So I guess that's it, my badge of Novaness as it were."

"I suppose you're wondering why I invited you all here. I..."

Volsung: You feel your heart begins to race and your hands begin to shake. You fight the urge to stand and run for a moment, looking around you see Fenris' ears perk up.

Saker: Your sensitive ears catch the sound of a high pitched whistle, quickly growing in intensity from somewhere outside. You catch Overdrive's wide-eyed expression looking your way.

[Saker]

Fenris glides out of his chair into the middle of the room and closes his eyes concentrating on the whistle. "Nycto, we have company somewhere outside. Can your hounds detect anything?"

Pacing around a little, Fenris' hair starts to stand a little straighter, "Mama B, where do you go in case of a tornado? Let's get you there until we understand what the problem is."

[Nestor]

Javier catches Fenris' unease and stands up too.

"Wass goin on? We bein' raided?" he asks, the concern evident in his voice.

He quickly but quietly moves to the side of a window facing into the street and peers out. One of his hands reaches behind him, as if to remove something from his back.

[Boost]

Jason stands and moves next to Fenris, "If this is bad, I'm going to need a little power. It's kinda of my thing, do you mind?" He extends his hand towards Fenris as if offering a handshake.
