Oh, ok. I thought we had discussed the idea of using an Advantage to counter the built-in Limitation (sadly, my search-fu is weak and cannot retrieve the thread).

I've lost track. Do I still have a Hero Die? If so, then that's what I'll do. If not, I'll still attempt it and hope I can dodge whatever the Apebot throws out before it kicks in.

Well here's what Protheuz thinks you guys have left, as of Feb 1st:
Nycto is at 2.
Overdrive at 4.
Javier at 2.
Nyx at 3.
Fenris at 7.
Unless you want to go and count yourself (I don't), I'll go with his figures.
I thought we had discussed the idea of using an Advantage to counter the built-in Limitation
I think that's been discussed in the rules section as a way to purchase the power at character creation, but I think it'd be more appropriate to use the Hero Die rule now unless I'm missing something (probably am).

There's always the option of formulating a plan with your fellow Novas. I'd give a Hero Die for a well thought out plan, like I did with the raid on the warehouse.

I would think you could hold your action too, not necessarily with Force Field, but to try some other kind of intervention if/when the ApeBot goes to grab his lady friend.

For the record, Fenris blew 5 HP on that last attack for an additional 15 huge points of damage!

cheers

Remember you can take damage using "extreme effort" to gain temporary Hero points.

If you want, you could take 30 damage, gain 3 HP, that with your 2 form an hero die.

That actually would fit the scene: Javier literally burning himself up to generate the Force Field.

If that passes muster for the GM, I'd like to use that.

Cool! With your permission, I'll slightly edit my last entry to reflect that.

Especially when compared to my puny Mind roll. ;)

Hey, for future reference, could I have bonuses to the Mind roll be part of the power? For example, I could define it as Force Field 5 (40 Hits, x2 damage, x4 Mind).

We're lucky it's trying to pick the doctor over and over.

If he was smashing one of us at a time it would be harsher.
He would wrestle us to mush. (x6+15 in wrestling moves).

I really didn't think negative dice modifiers would shift the results over so much. An average roll becomes terrible in a hurry; a terrible roll becomes zero even faster! Let that be a lesson to you fellas!
