Javier stands back, letting Harrison take the lead in questioning. He figures if they're going to play "good cop, bad cop" he wants the more fun role. For now, he's content to listen and look appropriately badass.

Fenris dares not smile at the surprising success of his oration. He glares over at the pro-Grumbles protestors and growls, "what are you looking at? Pick your boards up, and start chanting. Let them know we support Officer Grumbles."

With that Fenris turns and heads toward the jail.

Somehow I missed the previous post.

Nycto exhales "I agree with you there, a moron is always a moron.
People always said that about nuclear energy, canons, bombs, etc. as they appeared.
Ghetto-ing Novas will create a revenge and self-protecting movement - as it is already happening. If inclusion is not accomplished, probably this will end in war and eradication (of either part or both).
There must be Novas belonging to security forces, and work together to stop/discover those morons."

Overdrive tries to look composed and declares
"Grettings, I'm agent Overdrive and this is agent (insert whatever name that Javi agreed).
We're concerned about Tony Gucchi's miraculous recovery and escape.
We'd like to check your security cameras footage and interrogate any witnesses.
It seems he had a unpleasant visitor....a notorious mobster also known as a Nova ..."

Overdrive tries to look composed and declares

Mr Jacobs rubs his hands together nervously as he nods his head vigorously in agreement. "Sure, sure, yes, of course. Come this way, I'll take you guys to the security station, I have a copy of the footage in there." He turns and walks hurridly back the way he came, you guys walk quickly to keep up with him.

As you turn down one hall, then the next, you notice that the cameras are turning and watching you three as you pass.

You reach the security center, a room no larger than a broom closet that is accessed with a swipe of a key card. Inside, a bank of closed circuit tvs monitors the hospital and a young, pimpled faced man is frantically bashing on a keyboard. Jacobs turns to the guy, "You're going to break that * thing, knock it off."

"It's already broken sir, see..."

Jacobs ignores him and flips on another monitor that already has the video queued up. A push of a button and a black and white video of Johnny Smalls parking outside pops up. The editing has already been done, so you watch as he passes through the hospital with a large duffel bag on his shoulder. He approaches the room where Ten Chin was being looked after, two cops standing guard outside. After a brief conversation with the nurse on duty and then the two cops, Johnny Smalls walks into the IC unit unmolested. A few minutes pass and he walks back out with his enormous henchman in tow, looking healthy and whole. You do notice the bag is missing...

"See sir, the cameras followed the agents all the way through the hospital. I kept trying to reset the cameras to their preassigned positions, but they won't respond. Look, I can change the cameras everywhere else, but the cameras down the hall won't stop looking at our door," you overhear the young security guard trying to explain why he was bashing away on the equipment when you walked in. Mr Jacobs glances nervously over to you two but doesn't say anything as your video ends in static.

Javier gives Overdrive with a quizzical look before addressing the security guards.

"Anyone come in here besides the two of you?" he asks Jacobs and the young man.

"Someone is hijacking your cameras to watch our every moves. Probably from the outside..."
Overdrive says with a grim overplayed tone.

"Agent Esposito, can I have your phone? Our guardian angel may be able to locate the source..."
He asks with a mellifluous voice.
(if Javi grants his phone ,Overdrive dials the Doorman number.)

While doing this, he says:
"Mr Jacobs, we'd like to hear the testimonial of the nurse who met Johnny Smalls... preferably away from those inquisitive cameras..."
Casually he adds
"What if that bag contained some food...? Ten ChinTony could simply heal by gulping in quantities... "

Nyx thanks the lawyer, heading outside, Prop 13 is dangerous... but so are we Novas. Maybe we do need legislation, but prop 13 is going too far...

As he exits, and idea is forming in his head about the protesters outside, but he sees Fenris has already dispersed half of them. Nyx quickly spots Nycto and approaches, "Our friend seems to have a way with people."

"Crowd control in a large packet..." answers Nycto. It must be hard being always Nova... If this prop is approved...

You enter the jail where the receptionist seems to have been expecting your arrival. She calls over a young officer to escort you to the holding cell of the Rockman. You walk in silence through the jail, passing all the normal cells and heading into the basement.

You are startled by the array of equipment that has been crammed into the hastily built holding area for the Rockman; beeps and chirps call out from banks of computers where a handfull of people in lab coats walk about distractedly.

"You must be Agent Fenris, pleased to meet you sir! Dr Walker said you'd be stopping by to discuss our work. He's tied up right now but he'll be right along. Please, make yourself at home," a pleasant young woman says to you, then scurries off with a pile of print outs in her arms.

You pace around, looking at the expensive looking equipment, half wondering where the Rockman is actually being held when you turn the corner around a bank of filing cabinets to find a crude platform encased in bars, the former Rockman laying on a cot, apparently asleep.

A strange red glow seems to come from somewhere near him. He turns over and you see the small disk with the red light has been removed from his arm, but he now sports a larger disk in the middle of his back, a bright red light pulsing in the middle of it. It raises the hairs on you neck. Is this the cure?

"Everything's working fine sir, the new capacitor should be large enough to contain a year's worth of the Chimera particles," a young man in a lab coat says to an older man, similarly dressed. He looks strangely familiar, but you can't quite place him at first...

"Hmm, once we can figure out how to redirect the Chimera...Oh, Agent Fenris! Hello, hello, I'm Dr Walker. Captain Marshall said you wanted to discuss our work, a cure, yes?" His smile seems sincere as he extends his hand to greet you. You glance over at the young man who wasn't introduced, who's gone awfully pale and who's backing up slowly, shaking his head as if to say don't say you know one another.

Oh *, it snaps to you, the nasily voice, the glasses, the boyish, pimpled face.

Let me know what Nyx and Nycto wish to do. If you need an idea, there's another investigative point someone mentioned a while back that hasn't been pursued.

Fenris ignores the Doorman and looks back at Dr. Walker extending his large, clawed hand. "Yes, I'm Agent Fenris. Dr. Walker, I presume." Fenris pauses a little for Dr. Walker to introduce his lab assistant if he wants to.

"I've heard that you can cure being Nova." He starts to stare at the Rockman while continuing to speak. "That doesn't look like a cure. That looks like a suppression device. How does it work? What safety testing have you done on it? Is the cure worse than the disease?"

Nycto turns to Nyx and asks "We should check Dr Mortinson's work on the CPU's of the bots, to see if there's news about what happened. And later we can check the net, to see if anything strange happened - like mysterious deaths."
