DP7, Mystery men after the white event. Marvel New Universe

Hey Deacon, are you still going to run this? You haven't posted here since the 10th. If so, I have a question about a potential Disadvantage. The guy I'm working on would only be able to communicate with others while possessing another body, would you let this pass as a disadvantage?

OK...to answer a few questions. I was considering running it on maptools/VTT. I realise this was posted in PbP and although I have never did PbP, I am considering it. I have been reading the playstyle and flow of a few games and battles. I did not mean to ignore the posts I had a birthday and whatnot. I am now back and was a little overwhelmed at the intrest. Yes mystery men, 20 pts, the setting will be revamped to a more present day white event. Which will play on the 2012 hysteria rather than those surrounding the "Cold War" era. Setting will be 2015 Miami Florida. I am not a very confident writer but have enclosed a few paragraphs of the background I have sorted out so far.


The year is 2015, roughly 3 years since the “Mayan Event”. The hype previously experienced in the decades leading up to it seemed for naught. There was an astronomical occurrence that came and passed as well. A bright flash filling the sky causing some temporary hysteria, looting and riots that came to pass as well. The only thing that seems to be destroying us and the earth is still ourselves. Wars and religious intolerance still has the doomsayers ears and the eyes of the world are still wandering. Waiting for the next “Apocalyptic” distraction. The wait may well be over.

Miami Florida has seen its share of natural and man made disasters through the years. The city seemed nearly un-phased by the series of events in the past 3 years. August 17, 2015 started like many Mondays. Until an immeasurable amount of people began to flow into the emergency room of hospitals all over the city. This was happening all over the world. Thought at first to be an epidemic, but there were many differing symptoms. A massive quarantine was ordered as some people mysteriously got better and others became worse even dying.

There began protests as the family members of victims being held grew inpatient. The quarantine was lifted and only those who were grotesquely deformed or deemed still a hazard remained. In the few weeks past, incidents of “para normals” have plagued the airways all linked to the quarantined that were released. Martial law ensued, protests and riots followed. The military took no time in using it's own paranormal soldiers and marines to neutralize the threat.

Great introduction. How do you see the Player Characters (PCs) getting together? In DP7 they started in the clinic. How do you want us to link our backgrounds to campaign start point?

I've posted 2 PC options. Do you have an opinion on which you would prefer?

Also, if you could give us an idea on posting rates per week, it would help us manage expectations of participation.

Transparant, yes, but not ghostly. The Tennant pic works fine. I've also changed my build (very slightly) to add Boost 1 to Mind control, I wanted mind 4 just for that purpose, but couldn't justify him being that smart and couldn't get up the excess points for it. Then I remembered that's what Boost is for!

Still trying to figure out an answer to the posting per week question. The PC's will start in quarantine. Awakening to the sound of alarms signaling a containment breach. Though you mainly see med-techs and doctors in Haz-suits throughout the day. The alarms seem to be drawing some military into the quarantine area. PC's will be very hazey and somewhat dazed from sedatives. At this time even you will be unaware of any changes other than permanent physical changes the event caused. If that is the case, your malformed body seemed like a dream. The reality of any "freakish" effects were repressed by the meds, until now. The PCs will begin in the same ward and be drawn to a figure seemingly there to help them escape...More to come.

Does this mean Ghost doesn't fit this campaign? Considering his background, or could he have been "haunting" the quarantine area?

Sounds awesome! Tony could of easily drifted over to Miami after his transformation, can't wait to start.
