The Foundation: Darkness Cometh mini-series
1st Issue - Raising Cain - 1st appearance of Cain & Bat-Man (Disclaimer: Not the DC character). An unknown superhuman raises the deceased Cain, a super villain from the late ‘70s, back to life. Cain destroys a major church in New York City. In order to stop Cain the Foundation team up with the now retired local legend Bronze Age (early ‘70s to mid-‘80s) superhero Bat-Man, who originally brought down Cain some thirty five years ago at the very church Cain seeks to destroy.
----------------------------------
Play Report: The session started out with the heroes (The White Witch, Blue Monkey, Sharp Claw, & Tarantula) at their base of operations located inside the UN Building. A live news report draws their attention to the destruction happening elsewhere in the city. The heroes set out immediately to take down the villain. Upon arriving at the scene the find that the police have the entire area blocked off, they enter the church which is crumbling around them. They quickly locate the trapped priest buried under rumble and set out to release him.
While engaging in the release Bat-Man sneaks up and makes an attack on Blue Monkey, the Monkey easily dodged the attack. After a brief confrontation they realize they are all there for the same reason, and so they end up joining together to bring down Cain. Meanwhile, Tarantula finishes releasing the priest and gets him to safety. The rest of the team and Bat-Man set out to find the villain of the hour. Upon finding Cain the battle began. The out-of-retirement Bat-Man was incapacitated not long after the fight began. After a grueling fight in which Blue Monkey took a beating, and we saw Sharp Claw going toe-to-toe our villain the White Witch successfully brought down Cain through the use of her mental powers.
After taken Cain into custody during interrogation Cain reveals that he "woke up" in a lab of some mad scientist calling himself "the Weaver". He "escaped" and returned to NYC to finish his mission from 35 years ago, to kill the priest and destroy the church.
Once interrogation was finished Cain was shipped to The Super Max, a maximum security prison for superhumans located in the Arizona desert.
Next issue "A Twisted Rebirth"
With the information gained from Cain will our heroes be able to find the mysterious mad scientist known as "the Weaver"?
