Basic Action Super Heroes!

Finally really looking through my copy of BASH Sci Fi. I am loving it, but could use a bit of clarification.

In the section on weapons, dmg is often listed as x_dmg, or +_dm.

So is x_dmg as a straight damage that is not modifier by a stat like Brawn or Mind?

Also, is +_dm a dice modifier, or a damage multiple?
