Complete Update: Dragonfly's Marvel Conversions
Hey guys,
I've been working on my Marvel Comics write-ups. The more write-ups I completed, the more I recalibrated some of my earlier work, so I figured I'd just repost everything. Also, I received some nice feedback from Kev, some of which informs my revision work.
Again - the purpose here is to be as robust and specific as possible with these character builds. As a consequence, the point totals are a bit high in some cases (although in many cases they are quite in line with standard BASH game play). For what it's worth, my own games are usually in the 25 point range. I know that versions of these characters can be pulled off at lower point totals, but the point here wasn't to make characters for my games. It was to write a sourcebook of the characters as they appear in the comics - in all (or at least most) of their glory.
Another thing I attempted to do was to make sure that these characters were all "accurate" relative to each other in terms of Stats, Skills, Damage, Soak, To Hit, and Defense. I conducted extensive research to get this "right." My sources are the old Marvel Super Heroes Adventure Game using the SAGA system, TSR's Marvel Super Heroes, the Mavel Wiki, and my own knowledge about the characters.
Finally, you should know that my aim here wasn't to be efficient. In some cases, I make choices that "waste" points, or that make certain builds less efficient. I have reasons for doing this, and am happy to explain them on a case by case basis. In all cases, these choices were made to keep chcaracters as close to the source material as possible.
All that being said, I know my work isn't perfect. I'm particularly unsatisfied by my definition of Mental Malfunctions, and I believe I need to be more thoughtful about Weaknesses.
Well, I hope you enjoy these. I'd love to get your feedback if you have any.
Best,
Dragonfly
