The most feared Villain of the Golden Age, Uberman was finally defeated by the Four Freedoms on D-Day, 1944- though they did so at great cost- with the death of American Wonder and Major Tank, and Kidd Dynamo missing in action. In the early 21st century, Uberman finally awoke from his tomb in the ice of the North Sea, determined to begin the Fourth Reich!
Here's Uberman's Golden Age writeup:

Now meet the scourge of the magical realm called "The Empire of the Golden Dawn". The Empire is a Japanese Mythological world connected Arcadia (a magical land mentioned in Megapolis).

This week my group will be facing this guy, as the main villain after a campaign. When they arrive, Ryu Kage will be hiding in shadows, and will raise an undead army to fight them. While they are busy with the undead, he will come from out of nowhere and attack. While he is solid/vulnerable, he will use his Devoted Henchmen (skeleton ninjas) to take hits for him.
Recently, Heroes were hiking to find the sacred Ki-Rin that was stolen by Ryu Kage's ninja. High in the mountains they met an old man who gave them food and shelter and wanted to hear tales of their exploits. The old man was actually Ryu Kage, magically disguised- and he used the stories to learn of their strengths and weaknesses!
The Hero who is the main character for this story arc, "The Jade Katana" has a sword that can hurt him even while he is in his shadow-form, however.
One of Ryu Kage's most powerful lieutinents is Lady Crimson, a Villain from Megapolis who in my campaign went through a gateway and ended up in the Empire- and the Heroes followed her. If the fight turns against, their side though, she'll try to beat a hasty exit.
