I have been thinking about Armor now for awhile, from Iron Man to the Power Armor that Lex Luthor wears.
Most often they are represented on the stats as if you were in them already - with the Normal Disadvantage to represent what your are like when you are not wearing them.
However, these are for superheroes whose main abilities stem around their power suit (not taking into account their usual brilliant minds).
However, if one were to just jump into a power suit, that either they invented but didn't use as often as other powers perhaps, or was an exo skeleton suit (a bit like from Aliens) etc, how would one best build it?
Could you build it as a vehicle?
Or
Would you try to emulate it as a bunch of powers?
If the latter, how would you best go about this?
For something that was just a "power suite" and not as versatile as Iron Man's armor, I was thinking something like Armor linked with Boost Brawn - but how would you build it to boost Agility at the same time,, as you can't link three powers as far as I am aware. Is there another way to build it that isn't a multipower (it wouldn't do to be in an armored suit that loses its armor when you use another of its abilities)?

If you were to take a "powers" approach, you could set the powers apart from the rest under a heading like: Exoskeleton Powers. Just treat these powers as a complete unit (though not necessarily in a multi-power; though some could be).
Think of this like some kind of a power suite wherein each power would have the Affects Others (user only) enhancement and Situational (can only be implimented by opereator) as well as whatever Gadget limit you think best fits the idea. It's a little clunky but get's the idea across.

So I have a question related to this.
I am trying to find a way to use the Normal disadvantage with Power Armor. I want to have normal physical stats without the armor and Boosted stats when I don the armor. So I would like to have +2 Brawn and +1 Agility when I put the suit on but the examples and description of Boost don't seem to be flexible enough so I can use Situational within reason under that condition. Especially if I take Instant Change.
Any thoughts on how to do it so it isn't cheesy and is within the scope of the rules or is what I described acceptable?

Yes; when you make your character's Stats, you use the stats / powers he has in the armor. You do not use Boost to represent the strength of the armor; just buy it as Brawn.Overdog wrote:So I have a question related to this.

Then you take the "Normal" disadvantage. His Brawn and Agility outside the armor are either 1-2 each. This does not need to be "purchased" separately; it is part of the Disadvantage. As a Narrator, I would allow the player to have a 2 in one of the stats and a 1 in the other; but having 1 in both is not uncommon, actually.
Now there are SOME things Armor *Might* be good for using Boost With.
For instannce a character with power armor who is not a super genius inventor (maybe someone else made him the suit) might still want to be good at using the suit's weapons and utilities. Therefore Boost Mind (with Armor Defense Systems) or Boost Agility (to hit with attacks in the Armor) would be perfectly fine.

AngryGhost, another good Limitation to use on powers is "Same Source". So if you have a bunch of powers as "Exoskeleton" that has a limitation on it, simply adding the Same Source: Exoskeleton limitation to all the other powers that go with it would be fine. That way if one part of it were destroyed, all of the powers would stop working.
