Honey Badger
Born in the worst part of ´Fort Apache´ ghetto in the South Bronx NYC De-lisha Miller was the youngest of five children and the only girl. Her farther was a long gone alcoholic and her mother while a good woman was over work at her two jobs to make ends meet and had to little rest to spend much time with her children, relying on the good book and Rev Taylor to guide them. The good Reverend failed with her brothers all of whom drifted in to gang life but he managed to install in De-lisha and strong sense of right and wrong.
Forced to drop out of school to help her mother keep them all De-lisha got a job as a short order cook and to her surprise found she was not only good at it but like it.
One night after her late shift she went to the church to pray and see how mother and old Rev Taylor were doing collecting funds for the needy. To her horror she saw her mother and the Reverend on the floor in pools of blood several gangers standing over them, she screamed as the gangers pointed they guns at her and pulled the triggers.
De-lisha come around for a second in a world of pain to see a kindly look old man in a lab coat keening over her a hypodermic in his hand.
´This will help you my dear, lucky I still had it in my pocket, I must have forgotten to leave it in the lab´
A small pain and the world fades to black…..
As De-lisha come around for the 2nd time her eyes focused on text chalked on the wall.
´Ï am so Sorry! It was only meant to heal you!! Forgive me!´
She sat up her claws digging in to the wood floor ….CLAWS?? She looked at herself and screamed she had been transformed! She was 7 feet tall, her heavily muscled body covered in black fur with blonde stripes, her hands and feet had 4 inch claws !.
Looking up she saw the blood soaked body’s of her mother and the good Reverend, and could hear the police sirens in the distance, and ran!!!
Out side the church without thought she leaped the five floor to the roof of the building over the street , then leaping and climbing her way over the roofs and walls of the city buildings she burned her fear and grief in motion.
Several hours later she found herself on top of another building mile’s from the church in the very worst part of town she finally stopped and allowed herself to cry. She wept until she heard a woman called for help, looking over the edge of the roof she could see in the ally below yet more gangers with guns mugging a woman.
´That’s just plain wrong´ she mumbled to her self
´And there is five of them´ , ´But Honey Badger don’t give a S%$= !! ´
Flexing her claws she leaped from the roof to the ally below.
