how to build a power changer?

Post by kevperrine »

Hey Folks,

I'm trying to figure out the best, simple, elegant way to make a character's powers.
Basically it's a character that is "Superman level" of power and style (most of the traditional Superman powers) but he can only do any one of them one at a time.

Limited by needing to focus his energy into one of his powers to make them work "flawlessly", so he can become "immune" to various physical damage but would then be open to mental attacks.
Or he can be the strongest on the planet, but not be able to fly.

Would this be easiest to just build all as Muti-power "sets"? Or as something else? Is there a power/way to build a character that just swaps a "set" of points around into different forms of "power block sets" that I could prebuild?
For Example Power Blocks:

Power Block: Invulnerable to any and all physical damage. (possibly also all energy, or separating the two), high BRAWN

Power Block: Invulnerable to any and all mental damage, high BRAWN

Power Block: Super strong, power, punch powers, high BRAWN

Power Block: super flight/speed, high AGILITY

Power Block: investigation, intelligent set with high senses and danger sense and high MIND, etc...

That type of power block "sets", but he doesn't have access to any other set at the same time as he's "in" one.
make sense?

thanks

I made a character once who had this very ability. It is just a very big multi-power (don't forget, different categories cost 2pts).

If you are trading off stats for powers. You could build a character with high stats and use shape-shift with a limitation that your exterior stays the same and you have to have some combination... or something less wordy.
