Update: my new card will arrive... sometime next week. And no, the Paypal thing didn't work either. So I guess I still will have to wait before getting UE (or Supers!, or anything else. >_< )

I tried making a Paypal account and had trouble with that, too. Apparently they have got me mixed up with my nephew or something. > <

I will try again, as I may need a paypal account in the future anyway. But I'm still giving back this useless card.

ARGH!!

I just tried to buy BASH! Ultimate Edition... but, it turns out that my new bank account gave me an ATH card, and apparently, none of the RPG download sites will take it!! -_-

Anybody know where I can use it? Or, do I have to get a different card?

Doktorelecktron: Thanks for the ideas! Funny, I just found out about Taliesin while doing research for this project, but I need to read more before I can decide how/if to use him. And you hit on the head for the French Hero, they tend to be Masked Masterminds, often with a Ghost theme (Le Fantome du...

Well, as I mentioned have a scientific background so I tend to organize powers (and more importantly, give them enhancements and limitations) according to basic chemistry and physics. It isn't like I feel EVERY type of power from the comics has to be represented, but rather that they must fall withi...

Dragonfly: Thanks for the information! I too had the "Blue Book" and, despite not being a fan of its rules, always liked the Champions setting. I will give Champions Complete a look later; even if I dislike the rules I can always convert the characters to BASH! for example. ;) Good luck with your pr...

I'm only up to 5th edition Hero system, so how is the 6th "bloated"? (it was already loaded with stuff, in my opinion!) And how is Champions Complete resolving the issues?

(Also, even more important; any major changes on the setting?)

Wow, there are some games there I hadn't even heard of! But as I said, my access to games has been spotty over the years. And I agree that I, too, have never been 100% satisfied with the powers systems I've tried; they are either too complicated or too vague. Which is not to say I didn't enjoy them,...

Oh, I intend to do a Magical Girl as well; there will be *plenty* of characters showing up in the series (this will be a webcomic) besides the ones in the World Champions. However Magical Girls tend to be either solo acts or in specialized teams, so I don't see one joining the WC.

Your favorite Superhero RPGs (besides BASH)

Ok, I'm sure there must have been a thread for this once, but I can't seem to find it (really, the Search function in these boards doesn't seem to work well for me) so I decided I'd just start this one. Besides, I really just want to talk about my past experiences with superhero rpgs. :P I've been p...

That sounds like a good idea too; in general, I support the notion that the GM and his players need to discuss what they want out of a game before he sets outs the rules. After all, the idea is for *everyone* involved to have fun (that includes the GM too.)

OK, I updated my take on Firestorm: I used Armor to simulate his ability to absorb explosions, and gave him a Devastating Weakness. It's still not finished- he needs more Skills and Advantages- and it might be argued that he's more powerful than this. Still this is a good start, and I hope to update...

Hmm. Interesting. I can see how that can both balance the player characters AND fit into the genre (non-powered heroes do seem to have more luck that powered ones.) I would prefer to just have all characters start at the same point level, but that's something to work out with the players.

If I may join in: I think this argument is a result of the old-age conflict: the writing of comics versus real-world logic. It is true that there's many- MANY- heroes who don't have enough protection against even basic things like guns and knives, yet they (for the most part) rarely ever get hurt, m...
