It's 1935 and the Nazi party is in full swing with World War 2 on the horizon. Hitler forms the Reichssicherheitsdienst (Reich's Security Service) as his personal bodyguard, but their true purpose is far more sinister. Made up of the most trusted soldiers of the Nazi party, this SS group's real focus is on the accumulation of occult objects. Hitler is obsessed with imagined power, directing most of his forces to securing these relics and artifacts which he believes will give the Nazis unrivaled strength...

He is successful in his mission, becoming the most powerful sorcerer imaginable.

September 1st, 1939; Germany invades Poland under the pretense of a staged “Polish attack" on a German border post. It is here that Hitler unleashes his horrific power, sending an army of demons to bring Poland to its knees in a matter of days. The world is shocked, and the fragile alliance Poland had formed with France and Britain dissolves in hysteria.

After Poland fell, Germany paused to regroup during the winter while the British and French stayed on the defensive. The period was referred to by journalists as "the Phoney War" because of the inaction on both sides. In Eastern Europe, the Soviets began occupying Baltic states leading to a confrontation with Finland, which ended with land concessions to the Soviets on March 12, 1940. In early April 1940, both German and Allied forces launched nearly simultaneous operations around Norway over access to Swedish iron ore. It was a month-long campaign that resulted in complete German control of Denmark and Norway, with the British and French forces being crushed beneath the German Juggernaut. Hitler immediately barricades the iron ore but does not begin mining it. He appears to be holding it for some reason, intent on preventing the Allied forces from obtaining the metal...

Winston Churchill is appointed the new Prime Minister of England after the Norway Debate, and his first act is to try and unite those nations which have not been active in the war thus far, namely America. Little did the Europeans know, America had been planning on entering the war, having secretly developed the ultimate weapon to combat Hitler's monstrosities. American military scientists have been working around the clock to develop a "super soldier" program which will imbue normal people with superhuman abilities. In the summer of 1940 they achieve a breakthrough. Flight, super-strength, super-speed, mind control, telekinesis, teleportation, and many other powers thought to exist only in stories have become very real!

And the battle is joined...

The players will be taking on the role of the world's first superheroes, created to combat Hitler's forces in an epic struggle between magic and science. I'll be running an introductory game for this setting at MisCon this year and will hopefully get a good response from the players. However, I haven't totally decided on where to place the scenario. Any ideas? I was thinking about involving the iron ore situation above but I'm not totally sold on it yet.

Finally, would you guys be willing to post some WWII-themed characters you'd like to see make an appearance? I can always use pre-gens for players who want to drop in on a game or some good NPCs to help fill out the setting.

I would be honoured to add one character to your world sir. So long as you are cool with my retaining the rights to it Wink

What point levels are you looking for and what particular types of characters?

I was thinking it's going to be a 30-point game so right around there, and the characters should be somewhat thematic with some pro-American characteristics. Mentalist, Brick, Speedster, stuff like that. I'm going to be re-doing BASHMAN's Patriotic Shield Leader a little bit and will most definitely be including that in the game.

You know, the bad guys are basically going to be demonic Nazis and such so... Wink

There can also be Heroes, but the superpower thing is USA only right now. Post-war (if the game runs that long) there will be some definite "What do we do now, Pinky?" themes going on as USA (assuming they win >.>) has this huge power on their side...

But some Allied Heroes would be awesome. Very Happy
